Beer & the PF tek?

I was sittin' there in my room smoking out of the 4 footer w/ a bro. We cracked a couple of brews and he barely touched his. Then I had an idea. Beer is fermented grain. If you used non alcoholic beer instead of water in the pf tek, you might get some interesting results. Anyone ever done this?

Dunno if this matter or not but even "non-alcoholic" beer has .02% alchohol in it...not enough to get drunk but no clue what effect it has on colonization.

Sounds interesting. How about moistening a casing layer with beer? But god, if it ended up tasting like O'Doul's...barf.

your problesm would be in the preservitaves...domestics and the majority of imports have loads of them, just as most wines have sulfites... Germany is about the only country that has laws regarding quality so very little if any preservitaves are added...german beers sold in america are frequently bottled here and once the arrive they are shuject to the same mismanagement as domestics....check the label well....

The small amount of alcohol would definetly hinder the shrooms growth if it didn't kill them. If you had a really thick casing or tenacious cake, you could probably put a little in it. Definetly not to srat spores though.
