Mexicana on grain?

Anyone have any success growing mexicana B on grain, ie rye, wheat etc?
I've got a jar of colonised wheat and I'm wondering if I should use it to spawn straw, or if it'll fruit as it is.......?

I thought the cool thing about mexicana is you can use the all the same stuff as simple cubenis growing and just trade brown rice flour for "soft cut" brown rice

I cant WAIT to try this!!!! :grin:

are you talking about producing sclerotia?
it's very easy to produce sclerotia with mexicana on just about any "normal" substrate, but what I'm talking about is producing fruits, which is a bit trickier....

From TMC:

Fruiting substrates = Rye grass seed and to a lesser degree rye grain and pasteurized wheat straw.

81 F for spawn run and 71-75F for fruiting.
