So to summarize

1. (Actually, I have no issues with this)

2. Republicans support devolping protected land.

3. Republicans support Tax cuts for the rich and let the working stiffs pay for the largest deficit in the history of the world.

1. I'm amazed.
2. Public land used to benefit the public.
3. Actually the tax cut (for the most part) goes to those who.... surprise.... actually PAY taxes. Of course there is the 400 dollars per kid tax (read handout) credit which goes... again surprise.... to many who pay no federal income taxes at all.

What I dont understand is that a few days ago you mentioned that you enjoyed hiking and outdoor activities in the forest more than most americans.

Now you are supporting logging, development and oil mining in our very own lands? When will this stop? How long will it take for people to realize how detrimental cutting down forests and destroying natural land really is? We alone cannot live on this earth. Our planet and natural processes depend on the diversity which the Earth has created over the past 5 billion years. Humans are destroying it at an alarming rate.

You name is even "luvdemshrooms"... you must not really love them that much because destroying the forest means destroying the mushrooms, along with thousands (millions) of other plants, animals, fungi and bacteria.

We need equality is this world. Once it goes off balance its going to take a long time to get it back to normal.

Unfortunately the scales already tipped....the damage will take thousands of years to repair already, and its scary how efficient we are becoming at it.

Exactly, thats the problem our efficency has gone backwards...

We had the gas shortage in the 70s, so everyone switched to small cars. Now everyone is back to huge ass trucks and SUV's that get 12 mpg.

Thats no efficency..!

Also what about that Bush dork, his administration has turned over so many goddamn environmental laws its just pathetic.

See.... here's where "lefties" make themselves appear to be fools.

I do enjoy the woods but I also believe them to be a resource.

Yes I support those things. That doesn't mean I support clear cutting and unreclaimed strip mining, just thoughtful use. Species have come and gone, and will continue to do so whether mankind is here or not. For you to say humans are destroying the earth is the height of foolishness. Have we been responsible for some species dying off? Probably. All species? I doubt even most.

Mankind can use things and NOT destroy the earth.

I think people who disagree with this assertion must have a particular definition of "destroying the earth"--one where we blow it up like the Death Star. Instead of a planet between Venus and Mars, there's an asteroid belt. No, we couldn't do that. Who is really claiming that, though?

Maybe it's true that there will always be "life" of some form on planet earth as long as the sun keeps shining on it. But I don't think it's so outlandish to suspect that we COULD be forcing nature's hand where humans are concerned. What's it going to be--pestilence, plague, famine?

Of course, maybe everything will be A-OK.
