Mushroom size

Hey all,
Look at what I've been growing...

I kind of feel they are small. Since this is my first time, I can't tell by experience whether this size is normal or not.
Some lucky shrooms have grown to 2.5 inches. But most are really small, between 0.5-1.0 inches.
There's more than those in the pic.
So, is this okay? If not, what do you think could be the reason for these small size shrooms. Lack of humidity?
btw, I dunked the cakes in water.
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I've been following the PF Tek.

Low water content, early pinning, contamination, genetics. Low fresh air exchange will cause scrawny stems. Low light can cause small caps.

I think that might be it. I will make sure it receives ~12 hours of fluorescent light.
Thanks.

full spectrum range is important not just an ol fluor will do find bulbs between 5000-7000k also dont expect to much weight off cakes

ROGERRABBIT: P cubensis will grow on stuffed animals, bibles, quarter pounds of weed, bras, etc.
In other words,it's hard to fuck up a cube grow.

Heh, Mushrooms grown off pf cakes or even spawned to bulk never tend to get that big....

Those were the three largest mushrooms I got off of 50/50 coir/verm spawned by 2 250ml pf caks... They never get much bigger than that regardless of the substrate depth.
When I was using rye/millet and spawning to horse manure and straw I got four mushrooms the size of a billy bat all weighing between 20-28g's each..... If you want massive mushrooms grains to bulk is definitely what you want to do.

Awesome! Got it a nice 6400k bulb. 12 hours a day should be good, right?

I'm definitely looking forward to grains to bulk. Thanks for the input!

I dont mean to cutt up the people using grow lights but why pay extra on your hydro bill when fungus is non-photosynthesis
Sunlight is the best light.

mushrooms are photoreactant, a florescent bulb WILL do everything you need it to, and they just need at least 5 hrs of light a day

So, I corrected my method. Now I'm using a 6400k light and fanning and misting the FC frequently. The results are impressive!

Not too bad. :P
