Liquid culture + Pf tek grow log

Day 1: (2/29/2012) With one 10mL spore syringe made 3 one pint honey LC's. I used around 25mL Honey/200mL Water. A little high, but I'm testing it out and want to make a strong inoculation.
I boiled the jars for an hour. Mixed honey + mineral water in the one pint jar. Made a small hole in jar top and silicon sealed it. Boiled 3/4 way to the top for 30 minutes. Injected 3.3mL spore solution into each pint. Started seeing results within 20 hours. What should I be looking for? Right now I see tons of white strands that float throughout the mixture. I am keeping them around 80 degrees F and shaking them 4-5 times a day.
Day 2: (3/1/2012) Still noticing more strands in the LC solutions. I made another pint LC solution (30mL honey/200mL water) and am waiting for it too cool down from boiling now along with 9 half pint jars as well.
The nine jars are 2:1:1 verm,BRF,water with one inch of vermiculite on the top part of each jar. Once these and the LC cool down I will inject 1 LC (2mL) and 4 jars (2mL/ea) with spore solution.
Here is where I am at now:

Day 3: (3/2/2012) Injected the LC honey solution with 4mL of spores. Added 2mL spore solution to each half pint jar (3x). Continuing to shake previously inoculated LC jars.
Day 6: (3/6/2012) Injected 3 more pf tek jars with spore solution. Two at 1.5-2mL and one at 3mL. More growth noticed in LC jars. Jar which i follow the most strict sterile procedure has the most growth so far.
Did 3 more LC cultures with spores because I still do not have any mushroom or clone to work with. I did these ones different. I did it as sterile as I possibly could, let about half of the honey carmelize. They are currently each injected with 1mL spore solution. I did the procedure as sterile as I could with alcohol and silicone for the jars. I am keeping the jars wrapped in aluminum foil at around 80F for atleast 3 days until I see how they are doing or inject air into the culture. _________________________________________
Any tips all?
Thanks.

So an LC is just water an honey? What is a normal ratio since you said yours is high

I use 1 Tsp of Karo for every 100ML of water.

Yes. The tek's I read said around 15mL/250mL. I did 25-30mL/200mL. A tad higher. Just honey is an option. Normally you use dextrose or any kind of sugar/carb as far as I know/

I will try to find the exact one. Its basically this simple.
- Boil jar and lid/screw for 30+minutes.
- Insert ~20mL of honey per mL of water in the jar.
- Make a hole in the middle of the lid.
- Silicone seal it or use filter tape.
- Tighten the cap/screw.
- Boil 20 minutes water 3/4 high on jar. (no longer or else the honey starts reacting)
- Cool off.
- Proceed to follow normal spore procedure
- 2mL of spore syringe atleast in the jar.
- inoculate and use.

Well here you go then. Throw that LC out.
They contam from spore SO OFTEN, and when you've got other grows going, it's such a waste! Pointless, at least. Why test out a likely contaminated liquid culture when you can clone a fruit off those PF cakes, getting a small piece of inner tissue in the end of a needle on a sterile syringe and putting it in its own LC. It'll grow an orb of mycelium over a week and change, which you can shake up to break up and have it then spread even faster, or use immediately.
You're way way more likely to have a clean LC this way. Every one I've started from spore became totally contaminated... but I've tried the clone several times now and all have been clean. Not to mention they start up faster, and the semi-isolate of fruit-proven genetics makes them colonize, consolidate, and pin much faster and more evenly all over substrate!
If you're gonna have THAT MUCH liquid culture that will last you so long... why keep something around that's quite possibly contaminated just to have more multi-spore grows??!? When you can, more easily, have wonderful cloned grows!!!
It seems you don't have a PC, since you're doing PF jars and boiling LCs. I wouldn't feel confident that your LC is sterile anyway after that little period of time... Worry about caramelizing your sugar media less than contaminating. If you caramelize even a whole half of it somehow there's still more than enough for your culture - the 4% media ratio should be considered as a general maximum guideline, less will do well if not better sometimes. Run your jar stuff thru the dishwasher, then right into boiling water, and use some of that already boiling water inside your jar for the LC. Boil much longer than 20mins with the sugar in it. Then, insert clone, and await extreme happiness.
Seeing a small clone chunk spread out in liquid is also very beautiful.
You can also PF-style steam grains to sterilize, if you're careful. http://www.shroomery.org/5248/What-is-fractional-sterilization-or-tyndallization I'd suggest for doing it several hours both [or all 3] times. Probably no need to bother "incubating." The reason I tell you this, is because starting from spore to grain will allow you to take a LOT of POTENT grain-liquid-culture 100% assured of it's sterility. It seems that would suit the way you wanted to start this out much better.
Anyways... I heartily suggest not ever bothering to start LC from spores. It's probably the least reliable and helpful technique used commonly...

Thank you.
The LC's were just a new project. I do like the mycelium syringes tek
My focus is far from the LC's. If they come out good, great. I did do one fairly sterile jar I think it should put out. I would like to clone, but I need a flush to do so, and I'm trying to get all my flush's within a couple months.
Im more concerned about what I should be looking for in the LC, and how to best move forward with a monotub. Cheers.

Any tips for anything moving forward anybody?
Due to smell issues, I cant have it smell. I think I will be using a perlite only method with the cakes to birth. Since I still have no clone to work with I inoculated 3 more 1/2 pint jars instead of 1 pint and used as sterile of a procedure as I could. Including:
- Make hole in middle of jar lid
- Boil jar and lid components at a moderate boil completely submerged for one hour w/ lid off.
- Take materials out of boiling water and put on a sterile surface with gloves and mask and a disinfectant sprayed in the air.
- Put silicone on both sides of the jar lid. Let it seal.
- Put 10mL honey per 250mL water in the jar. Seal jar.
- Shake the jars.
- Boil 3/4 submerged for about 50 minutes. It seemed around 50% of the honey carmalized.
- Waited for jars to cool and followed sterile procedures (Gloves, mask, disinfetant sprayed, lysol wiped and a lighter).
- Wiped spore syringe in lysol, wiped top of jar as well.
- Heated syringe with lighter until red hot.
- Waited to cool for 30 seconds. Then injected through the silicone.
- Immediatly wiped top of jar with lysol. Piece of tape put over top of jar until I need to do a FAE
- repeated procedure for each jar.
