HI Guys I just wanted to get an opinion as to whether or not these trays are ready to fruit or if I should wait. I'm just not sure. This is rye spawned to coir, uncased.

Thank you, Sir. I just noticed...the few I took in 'macro' mode came out great, man! You can see all the little details in there. I'm going to have to use that for these things in the future. Great looking pics, especially from a phone. *breaks arm patting self on back" Thanks, again. Any other comments welcome, as always. ~Corwin

Thanks for all the input, guys. I can wait till the weekend to move to FC if that's going to be beneficial. This freakin' hobby is surely teaching me the meaning of 'patience'.

RR says that if you let it consolidate that there will be a pretty substantial difference in pinning so waiting is better ,.IMO

What tek did you use? Also that's a nice looking tray! How long have you had that incubating for?

Yeah. It's not so bad though if you already have a nice supply of mushrooms to tide you over.

A friend's last grow was wildly successful, her trays looked a lot like that when she fruited. I say if it has been at least 7 days in colonizing stage, go ahead. You'll still probably wait another 4-6 days to see pins..
Or you could let it get a little more stable and have better defenses against contam.
My friend didn't have a problem after 7 days, and her trays were deeper. So it's up to your best judgement.
(This is my first post here BTW, after 2 years of lurking!!! YAY! )

They're ready. And considering you have introduced fresh air, you have put them into fruiting conditions whether you like it or not.

Damion5050's coir tek, with coffee grounds and gypsum added. Then layered in rye spawn pretty much the way RR shows in the horse poo bulk sub video. I just used the coir mix instead of poo. Didn't case as I read a number of places here and on myko-tek that coir was self-casing. I figured less steps is less to mess up, usually.
I spawned to the coir on the 14th. So, 15 days plus whatever time the grain took when I did all the G2G's. But, I don't think that was part of your question anyway.

Well my question is I have some brf jars that are 100% and I'm going to fruit 8 of them as cakes and the other two I have I want to make a tray. Is this possible? I would use the tek that you mentioned

Well, I used two quarts of rye spawn each and roughly ½ brick of coir for those 2 trays, just a bit more than that. (so on Damion5050's tek, you'd do half the verm, water etc. to get the amount needed for the 2 9x12x3"deep pans.) I don't think 1 or 2 ½ pint brf jars would be enough for a decent show. It would take forever to colonize and probably wouldn't be any better than if you'd just fruited with the rest as cakes.
I'd say just keep 'em with the rest of your cakes. The humidity seems to stay up better when the SGFC is full anyway. If I put less than the full 12 brf cakes I can fit in my FC, it becomes a huge pain trying to maintain any kind of humidity. Plus, the several BRF cake runs I did helped me out a lot. After enough of them you start to be able to read the signs more than just guessing by number of days, etc. Good learning either way.
Then, if you want to try some bulk next time, you can try to start with the standard rye tek from RR or any of the many wbs teks to get your bulk spawn. I've found if you follow the Rye tek from RR's vids and Damion's coir tek to the letter, it hasn't been all too difficult for me. (just the normal first time jitters over when to do what...hence this thread;)) I'm sure the same would hold true for the many people on here that swear by the WBS. I just haven't tried yet and the rye's cheap and treating me right, so far. Since I'm still overflowing w/ Rye berrreis there's no real motivation to try that route...yet. But, I also have a lovely step by step vid, courtesy of RR for the Rye spawn and transfers. I just prefer that to reading 15 page teks w/ no pics even. But, I guess I'm guilty of that myself.
Anyway, if someone feels the need to proclaim WBS as the End all of bulk grains....convince me. I'll probably end up trying it sometime in the future. I tend to get bored with things very quickly.

Is the genie really that hard to put back in the bottle? It just went from being a tray covered with foil and holes poked for GE to being a tray w/o foil in a dead still room for long enough to snap off a few shots. Do you guys really believe that amount of fresh air, ~30 sec's, would catapult them immediately into fruiting with no return? Not trying to be a smartass, but I really don't think it's that clear cut.
If I knew I could induce fruiting so easily, I would have taken the cover off a week ago.
I did put them in the FC today, though. So, it's just a non issue at this point anyway.

The trays should have been colonizing in a larger tub with the lid on. This elevates CO levels which is beneficial to the myc. Once fully colonized and left to consolidate for a few days, the trays are THEN introduced to a lot of FAE. This helps promote an even pinset and helps prevents early pinning.
Good Luck!
