The Yin and the Yang of Magic Fungus.
    #1588051 - 05/29/03 07:27 AM (14 years, 1 month ago)

Do you believe that a large, hefty dose of cosmic responsibility/ weight/ karma comes with ingesting magic mushrooms? I always feel while on mushrooms that while it does feel completely "right" at the same time it feels "wrong" .Almost that this is a mistake that we're able to see with these mushrooms the brightness and absurdity of life. Life is somehow destabilized, broken a part and placed in a jar to stare at. I always feel like Dorothy discovering Oz behind the curtain and feel like somehow this will all catch up with me in the end.

any thoughts?

I think the greatest challenge of psychadelic exploration is integrating what was learned into the "real world"
I understand what you mean about seeing the "wizard of oz" that is a good metaphor.
I think you just have to accept the handicap the concept of time is, and how people can be
stuck think with the times. I also think in regards to what you were saying
that mushrooms allow you to see the errors you've made in life and how to correct them.
Some people would think that it's worse to know and do nothing than to be ignorant

that is an interesting point. the profound realizations about yourself and your relationship with all that is around you is worthless if you don't take the followup actions to make a true positive change in your life/world.

Hrmmm.. interesting

Well, when I think about that whole 'violating life by knowing too much' thing, I think vice versa.. We are destabalizing life by knowing too LITTLE about what's going on around us... I mean c'mon, we KNOW our potential, it's a little too late to pretend that we don't. The real crime would be to deny what really IS. It is reality that we can eat these hallucinogens and see what we see, and use that same knowledge (to a degree) in our daily lives.

Today it just seems like some 'forbidden doorway' because supposed powers set it up to look that way, and I know those decisions were based on the ideas of turning a populous into robots.

I know exactly what you mean, I use to feel that my self in the beginning.
What I found out after some self-analysis, that that little voice or feeling that pops out (most of the times when you are really feeling something in life) is the saboteur in our mind, the mea culpa if you will.
Is important to recognize that this "individual" is not you!
Was inserted in you, by who you may ask?
Probably the first ones to implanted there were your parents (also victims of this individual) then reinforced by religion school, society etc.
Is a conditioning, which I feel arouses from ?fear of feeling, living?.
Remember you have the right to feel, experience, learn and live life to the fullest!
Don?t be a victim of some one else?s fears don?t reinforce your own. You gave the power to that ?individual? recognize it for what it is, and reclaim your mind and heart.
Peace.
