It's free. And you don't have to submit to some guru. I'll guide anyone through the self realization steps over skype if you want.

Hey man you should try it out. The first step is all you really need to do. Next time you're meditating or thoughtless just hold your right hand on the left side of your heart and (inwardly, from the heart) ask "Mother, am I the spirit?" three times. You don't *have* to address who you're asking as "mother" but it's what we do since we /are/ addressing a motherly energy.
You don't have to trust me... you will verify for yourself that by sticking with Sahaja Yoga you will spontaneously change in all the best ways possible. After the first step just try meditating by keeping your attention on the fontanelle bone or an inch or two above it if you can do that. Also the hands should be relaxed and open... no mudras.

you realize that bringing to somebody to self realization is the same thing as being their guru in a sense, right? Especially if you are giving direct practices and instructions. I'm open to the idea of teachers, but here in Atlanta we have a saying...only get burned once

Nah not really. It's a bit different with this. The steps are just part of a system that start you on the path to becoming your own guru.

What is spirit? What is the motherly energy? What does repeating a phrase 3 times have to do with anything?
Rituals only have a purpose insofar as they are meaningful to the person acting them out, so I don't really see the point in prescribing any certain personal ritual (well, they all start out as someone's personal ritual). This one makes me want to spit up for some reason.

Affirmations, which crystallize intent, are very powerful tools. I don't see the problem with sharing one which works for one person, and may work for another.

Seems it would be more powerful to utilize some creative energy and come up with a personalized ritual. but that's fine, it's not as if I'm stopping anyone by

Well, I like the idea that certain mantras for example, which are steeped in tradition, have some form of consensus power to them. The mind of many surely has more creative energy behind it. I once had a dream where I found myself in what seemed to be some type of monastic temple. There were hundreds of people repeating the mantra which I repeat during meditation. There were children studying books and everyone was of high spirits.

This simple exercise simply acknowledges chakra levels, without acknowledging the anal or genital chakras, and the site seems to be a devotional practice to this woman. These practices have nothing to do with the kriyas (cleansings), pranayamas that include cleansing breath (kapalabhati), bellows breath (bastrika), inhalation-retention-exhalation (puraka-khumbaka-rechaka) plus applying anal, navel, and chin locks (bhandas) and concentration on the Muladhara chaka's details until one feels like one is going to suffocate. Then, providing one is purified, one ceases to need to breath. Pranic energy floods upward in the form of the Kundalini Shakti. These practices need to be imparted personally by a teacher, else damage can occur. There is also the practice of milking Amrita (Nectar), but these are advanced Kundalini practices.

Heh, the funny thing is in the dream I said to a few of the Asian monks around me "the first time I repeated this mantra I had a spiritual experience" and they all just laughed their faces off. I got the feeling I was almost channeling in my personality into someone elses.

Sahaja Yoga in the most traditional sense is not something that can be 'done' as Sahaja means 'natural state', so you are essentially practicing 'the natural state' which if natural must always be so, so you are merely practicing aligning the mind with what is already so, which paradoxically isn't a 'doing'

Its totally necessary to submit to a Guru, even if you haven't had to in this life you did so in a previous life, it is a total prerequisite for awakening, your sentence above also prooves this, your asking others to submit to your guidance through knowledge you posses
Feel free to tell us more about this teaching though... i think theres a neo-sahaja movement currently going on is that what your referring to? What does it teach?
