contam question
    #1586715 - 05/28/03 10:04 PM (20 years, 10 months ago)

i posted this in the contamination forum but ppl barely seem to look at it so im posting here. suppose a cake has a tiny spot of (what i think is) green mold smaller than a pencil eraser tip and mycelium is growing near it. will the mycelium be able to overcome the mold and and colonize succesfully or is it doomed?

I saw a small spot of green mold in my first casing with myc next to it and thought it might get taken over by the myc so I let it be.....I had to throw that casing out.

I say since it's such a small spot, cut it out now before you lose the whole thing bro!

If your sure its green mold, seperate the cake.
If you wanna play, here are a few ideas.
Cover the spot with either baking soda, salt, or both.
Keep in mind I am speaking as this cake is fuct.
First take a look and make sure it isn't bruised.
(Pic would help)
