"Also if I stare at a flat surface with texture (i.e. the ceiling or pavement or something) it kind of swishes aroudn on it's own planes"
yeah that's resonance - since you can't hold perfectly still while you're looking at the surface, after-images are interferring with the "now" image, creating this effect.

I've also always had those little things moving over my eyes. I only notice it on sunny days when looking at the sky or a white wall. I think everyone has this. Maybe we should put a poll on the shroomery to test how many people have this
I can also sometimes get flat surfaces to start moving a litlle bit. A kind of bulging and unbulging movement I've always been able to do that.
What's also cool is to have a surfuce with a random texture or something and concentrate on that untill you start defining things in it. I can often see weird gremlins and such. That's just your eyes and brain making patterns out of noise.

yea the lil dead cell things in your eyes - i think everyone gets them.
as for HPPD, it isn't classed as HPPD until it adversely affects your life. so if you've only got mild visuals that don't interfere with living your day to day life, then it's not classed as HPPD. only a very very very small percentage of hallucinogen users get HPPD. to these people, their visuals strongly effect their lives. btw, lsd is much more likely to bring out these sort of visuals than mushrooms.

I'm sorry but I think "HPPD" is just as unreal as ADD

4%? I dont know man. I hate to jump on the bandwagon here, but i too can see the "bacteria". Its the weirdest thing because you guys describe it exactly. I've always thought i was seeing Bacteria in the Air, but bacteria on my eyes is way more logical. And ive always had this odd ability since before i started tripping. That and i can somehow see energy coming from stuff. Like its reverberating. Id like to read an article on the bacteria thing.

The amount of people in this forum that have said they do experience aftertrip hallucinations or HPPD is BAD news. I could just a DEA commercial "78% OF USERS EXPERIENCE DANGEROUS FLASHBACKS!"

Yep. They're called 'floaters' and aren't a result of hallucinogen usage. You're probably just paying more attention to them now.

Ive always had transparant type things on my eye, and like posted here since they move with your eye you cant look at them directly unless your lucky and they happen to pass directly over the center of your eyeball. As for the poster saying they move on their own or something, sounds a bit odd/untrue, not saying that it isnt tho. Im not a bacteria expert or anything but I dont think they would move quickly enough to notice it on your eyeball if they are infact alive, just my assumption ofcourse. For me they always go downward, gravity pulls'em down, and you have to get fairly good with your eyeballs to track'em while their moving, you have to think of how slippery your eyeball is and what movements need to be made, the more slippery the surface the slower you have to move your eyeball to move'em around and re-arrange them so you can watch'em again. I do this by slowly looking up then looking down quickly, its sort of like the table cloth trick where you pull it fast enough and the dishes stay in the same place.

lol !! I do exactly the same thing- gotta keep these bastards centered ... I went to my microbiology lecturer in varsity and told him "what's up with these bacteria floating over my eyeball- I don't need no damn microscope" and he looked at my long hair, tatty clothes, and bloodshot eyes and just kept quiet. Good times.....

After reading a little bit on the HPPDonline message board you'd be hard-pressed to prove that the posters there don't have it.
And on the issue of floaters, I've had em since long before my drug use as well.

Or they have been brainwashed into thinking, if they walk into a dark room and they see blue sparkles, then they are going to hell for being a druggy. I actualy think HPPD is so funny so what if you have mild visuials now and again.

I get slight hallucinations regardless, especially if I go into a meditative/trance state. If I stare at something long enough, I can get it to shift around - nothing severe, obviously, but it's still there.
Hallucinogens _do_ have permanent effects, and never believe differently. It's just a matter of whether or not it bothers you to know that. For me, it doesn't, and it's not disruptive. If anything, it's pretty cool to observe.
I'm guessing that during trips, the neural re-wiring that drugs initiate simply carries over afterwards. I bet if you tripped once and then cold turkeyed for 5 years, you wouldn't get a damn thing. But if you keep tripping , you just keep perpetuating the effect.

There is no way the "bacteria" floating around in our vision are really bacteria. It's just bits of dust floating on the surface of your eye.

The drugs you ingest cause chemicals to release and react with each other in your brain to make you hallucinate. One that can happen WITHOUT drugs. Your brain is probably enjoying the release and reaction of these chemicals, hence the continued "tripping". It is said that you can ingest chocolate and a MAOI(i think) and get a "trip" similar to DMT.(Please correct me if I'm wrong) As far as I know, its not the drugs that make you get fuked up, its the release of chemicals in your brain causing this. Smoking opium releases endorphins(a chemical thats in your brain) to get you high. Cocaine releases somethin too, can't remember what. These chemicals can be released without these specific drugs, inducing the same high. From what I understand, without these chemicals in your brain, you wouldn't get high. So......just enjoy it while you can! (If any of this is incorrect, please PM me or post it here with references. It is possible that I'm wrong. All my references are from memory from reading lots of books on drugs and books on brain activity)

I see shit out of the corner of my eye sometimes. Usually it's just a shadowy object that out of the corner of my eye I see as my cat. They seem to be becoming more vivid. It's not anything disturbing, just bizare. What causes this? It doesn't seem to pick up after eating shrooms or anything. I was wondering if pot might be causing it actually.
