Coucou... I was wondering if I could plant some poppies at this time of the year (I just received the seeds from a trade)... It's almost june. I live in Canada, Quebec.. Another question, I heard the poppies tolerate cold. Even canadian winters ?

I dunno how cold it gets in canada...
But the seasons best advised for growing them are fall and spring.

hrmm donno about that one, instead of sowing in the fall and hoping their overwinter (the seeds or rosettes) i'd just plant in the early/mid spring save the possible disappointment.

Oh...I'm just wondering if it's okay to plant them at this time of year. Last snowfall was like a month ago, so maybe I'm too late to plant them. What do you think ?

I live in Nova Scotia and im growing poppys now i got about 18 -4 gallon pots going in dooor under a 80 watt flors light germation happems at 50-65 if you put it out side they will grow. My growing season start in about 30 days. My friend grow poppys wild in his yard and they did not even sprout yet large health poppy plants pop up year after year.
Do this:
dig up some earth and mix some cow, sheep poop in along with a large bag of potting soil. DOnt use to much peat it will wash away and rain has a hard time getting in. Super large soil bag many be 5 bucks and not really worth it.. Trust me get the good stuff and dont worry latter(years of exp talking there) Maby even a bag of verm mix in with it. mix mix mix Or do what i did and grow every thing in container but it best to grow out doors im growing my in pots so when the cold comes i can put the plants in side to exten my grow season and get more pods.
So you got a soil plot about 6x6 feet or so and throw the seeds out on a raily day so they sick to the soil with in 6-20 days they will sprout when about 3 inchs high thin and let grow water when it get dry.
In 80-100 days you will get poppys flower then pods.
harvest and enjoy

I donno. What are the temps like around this time of year, is it considered early-mid spring there? If so hurry up and plant them.
