Ok, i know this guy that has a large bread pan, the dimensions are: 11 3/4" x 5 1/2" x 3 1/4". Ok. So how many crubled BRF 1/2 pint cakes should go in it?? and how thick a verm layer on bottom, how thick a cake layer, and how thick the coir on top? thanks. OH oh !, also is it necessary to dunk cakes that go into a casing?

Whatever seems right will be fine. The bottom verm layer that is one the bottom of th cake layer should be thinner. If the cake layer is 1/2 inch, make the verm like 1/4 inch. The casing layer should also be quite thin. i say about another 1/4 inch. You could dunk it before you case, or inject it with water, but like fungu said its not necessary. the wet casing and verm will provide good water content

Whatever floats your boat as far as thickness and you only want to dunk if your cake wo'nt pin, dunking induces pinning
