liquid mycelium to innonculate new cakes?
    #1584268 - 05/28/03 09:30 AM (13 years, 7 months ago)

Im thinking of taking a chunk of my fastest colonizing mycelium and putting it in water to make liquid mycelium. I would then suck it up into a syringe and innoculate 12 new jars. Would this work?

read up on the book "Growing Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms" by Paul Stamets. it explains the tek extremely well, but i'm curious why they pressure cook slices of mycelium agar with the water first. i thought it would kill the mycelium.
