Will Saddam "evade capture"?
    #1583325 - 05/28/03 01:38 AM (13 years, 9 months ago)

With everything Saddam has on Rumsfield, Reagan and Bush arming and funding him who thinks he just might manage to avoid being captured? Can't see anyone in the american administration being too keen on seeing him in a courtroom...

It is important the he not be captured, just as it was important in the first gulf war. The state must maintain external threats, real or imagined, so that it may rally it's subjects to support it even as it strips them of their freedoms.

To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.
