honey tek- strange thing...

My friend has tried honey tek for the second time.The first time the spores germinated in less than two days.But,they got contams when a unsterile syringe was used  :blush: .The second time he sprays clorox cleaner in the glove box,turns the hepa on, waits over an hour for the clorox to dry up.He then scrapes the spores from a clean print in his honey jars.While he is taking the spores out of the glove box he notices that the little envelope has bleach stains on it :blush:.After six days in the jars no growth.He thinks to himself that there must have been some bleach on the gloves and some how it got in the jars but he is a patient person so he waits two more days and fuzz balls start forming on the spores :grin: He has many stupid mishap stories when it comes to growing shrooms and just as many success stories. The moral of this story never give up.

i was wondering (cuz im about to do this) if only the white that formes useable or how dose that work if ur gona draw up a syringe? the tek only says to wait till some fuz formes and get it with a syringe. or is it one of those u got to see it to understand it?

the white things are germinating spores. so you suck it up in a syringe and reuse it by innoculating jars as usual.

My friend plans to use Tyvek filters on jars of popcorn and just shoot the fuzzy stuff in.He is gonna flame sterlise the sterile syringe before he draws the stuff up and before he squirts it out.His mistake last time.

I have no idea since my friend goes straight from one jar to the next.With a thought, it might not last more than a day.Because the mycelium will be growing inside the syringe it would soon be to thick to push out.

Na, it doesn't get that thick actually. You can always break it up in the syringe by shaking/forcing it. I don't know why it doesn't get bruised and fucked up in a syringe, but it doesn't seem to. Mycelium in a syringe in a REFRIDGERATED environment can last for months. Probably as long as a spore syringe actually.

I forgot to mention that in my friends first try he used potato water in the mix mabe this had something to do with the time lag next time he is going to do some with and some without
