Ehhh...Is it worth it?
    #1581650 - 05/27/03 03:50 PM (15 years, 27 days ago)

I've read the poor man's pod numerous times-unfortunately all of my old aquarium shit is gone so I'd have to repurchase everything-an estimated $42 from what the cheapest sources I've found online (shippings a bitch) - Should I go ahead and spend this money to make one or is the difference in fruiting/flushes to small to even notice/be worth the money? If I'm asking a question that was answered in the Poor Man's Pod post-sorry, but I didn't see it. Thanks in advance.

I just recently constructed my poor man's pod and its working pretty damn well. I dont think you should have to pay that much for it. Just use perlite instead of geolite, you will save a good amount by doing so. Look around the house for materials you may be able to use. Overall though it should only cost around 30 bucks. I like the pod because its sorta self sufficient.

$3 - perlite
$20 - pump
$ 7 - $10 - airstones and etc.
