I haven't read the new revelations one, but I think the first 3 of the series are something everyone should read

That article is put together so poorly. It's hard to read.

I think "The New Revelations" is rubbish, but CWG 1,2,3, as well as "Friendship with God" and "Communion With God" are all must have books. Those books are heavy.

I started reading the first one, but them I noticed that a friends dad was also reading them. he's really materalistic and shallow.... so I figured if they wheren't helping him, they're not going to help me.

The books are anything but materialistic and shallow.Maybe he rejected the teachings because he is shallow and materialistic. Anyway, I think different people get different things from it.

The books are anything but materialistic...

Uh-huh, selling a non-materialistic message for massive material gain. Walsch is an expert in marketing, not in spirituality.

In Book 1 "God" told Walsch to write just 3 books, but they were so popular (and "God" could not have foreseen this) that 3 just isn't enough when one is after fame and money.

People, listen up! If there is no God then the books ar worthless and if there is, do you really need another guru or do you need to find your own direct connection to the source?

Maybe he didn't want Walsh or anyone else to know that he was to write at least two more books.

Maybe he told him he would write three for a reason.

Yeah, it doesn't really matter if the MAJOR PREMISE of a tome is flawed or false.

i guess if you take the author and his belief as the "major premise" but i didn't. the philosophy was all i took from the book.

Yeah, it doesn't really matter if the MAJOR PREMISE of a tome is flawed or false.

It's a lot like the Casteneda series imo Swami, whether or not it's fact or fiction it still contains many attitudes/philosophies and ways of BEING that make someone's life more bearable......at least the one i read had that effect on me(the 10 GR8est illusions one, that's all i've actually read)>

I'm sure I share alot of the same views with Walsch and Casteneda... but I don't have a very hard time keeping my actions consistent (not talking about contradiction) with my words. It would've been even slicker if Walsch had God address his marketing tactic... then people like Swami (good Americans!) wouldn't be able to pick at the fucker's money-making machine (read: his books).

Major premise?

What does it matter weither he said there would be three or 1000? If you think the issue of how many books he was to write was a major premise, then you need to read them again. It was basically said in passing. It makes no difference.

The best evidence that CWG isn't real that i've come across was the post that someone on this board made. He said God made some reference to Star Trek that was incorrect and that if he were really God he would have known that. Now that's good evidence.

Hey Freak,
Yup, I agree to some extent that the message is more important that the messenger. But u must admit that if the messenger is not alligned with his own message then it makes one doubt the truth of the message. After all, if the message doesn't affect the messenger then how can we acertain it's usefulness (yeah, I know what people say to this - by trying it out for ourselves... but that's a bit idealistic). If Jesus was preaching love and compassion and forgiveness and then plundering villages and having orgies in his spare time, he probably wouldn't have had many followers. Same with the Buddha etc.
It's human nature we need to see the results first..only then can we be lead astray

Maybe he didn't want Walsh or anyone else to know that he was to write at least two more books.

Or maybe, just maybe, he made it all up as he went along and was not in contact with any higher source. Notice how Book 3 got more and more political. Sounded like a human rant.

But Welsh isn't God. So could he not be excused for being human?

Anyways, I'm asuming this is about Welsh making money out of the books. Didn't it say in the first book that making money is not a problem in itself, that it's how you use it?
