My brain hurts.
    #1579965 - 05/27/03 12:38 AM (13 years, 6 months ago)

This isnt really S&P but I trust you guys so im posting here. On the back of my head, the right side right above where my neck meets my skull, I get sharp pains. When i have my head at a low elevation, then raise it, the pain hits & stuns me for a moment. This has only occured recently, but it sucks. My friend and I were trying to knock his trampoline back into place. He hit it really hard, sending vibrations through the metal, up my arms and to my head. I was put in another moment of sharp pain. This is getting real annoying, and is sstarting to happen more and more frequently. It makes me paranoid, because I used to get headaches alot and my sister always told me i had a brain tumor. This set off a bunch of paranoid thoughts, and they are adding to this. I might be turning reptalian though =\ I am a poor white boy w/o medical insurance. I hope im not dying.

*1: What exactly your sister's credentials/qualifications for offering such a dire diagnosis?

*2: NO ONE is turning "reptilian" anywhere despite what you might read on some of the more extreme paranoid "conspiracy is all around us" websites....

i mean if you really WERE being psychically controlled by the greys or whatever, don't you think they'd at least hack up the interstellar coin( money) for your health insurance?

I would suggest doing some good stretching exercises for your neck.

One that might help would be to tilt your chin down until it touches your chest, while keeping the back of your neck long. Then interlace your fingers and push down on your head near its crown. If you do it right, you will feel a nice stretch in the back or your neck.

Hold it in this position at a comfortable intensity for as long as possible, then release, and repeat. Any sensation you feel should not be painful.

When the back of your neck feels sufficiently stretched, you should then stretch your throat as well. To do this, lean your head back as far as possible. Look at a spot on the ceiling. When you do this, your mouth will probably hang open slightly. For a good stretch in the throat area, simply raise your bottom jaw up to close your mouth.

Hold your mouth closed for as long as is comfortably possible, then release. Repeat 2 more times.

Another healthy exercise for the neck is to turn it from side to side as far as it can go, and holding it at the farthest point on each side for a few seconds. Actually use your eyes to look as far behind you as possible, like an owl almost! Do this for as long as it feels good.

You should also make sure to stretch the sides of your neck by tilting your head to each side as far as it can go. Really try to touch your ear to your shoulder. Again, it's good to hold each stretch as long as possible, then release and repeat.

Always remember to be conscious of your breath during each exercise!

These stretches will definitely help the pain you are having. They will really open up that part of your body to a wonderful supply of good energy and healthy blood.

Peace,

RebelSteve

I suggest slow stretching. Maybe it's fluid that's trapped. I can't diagnose it accurately, but maybe you could get an idea or two. Maybe accupuncture would work for you. Iv'e never tried it, but I think this case would be a good one for accupuncture (if it works), I donno.

Way to make a moderator's job hard.  This really isn't the forum for this.  These types of things should be in Support Group Central.

But......... you put it here and I don't have the heart to move it.  :frown:

I certainly hope you feel better.

Yesterday I woke up with an extremly sharp pain on the left side of my neck. I could barely move my head.

By the end of the day it was much better. Today it's almost gone.

Did you try ibuprofen? Try 400mg, it should do the trick until you seek professional help.

Almost all pain in the neck area is associated with tense muscles, ligaments and joints. Keeping your neck loose and relaxed through stretching is very important for preventing the risk of a serious neck injury or ailment in the future.

Both my real dad and stepdad have had to go to the doctor because of neck pain. They were both prescribed pills instead of given physical therapy, but I guarantee you that stretching will solve and/or prevent neck problems better than any pill could.
