Bumping this shit because I intend to come back and study this thread. Very strong chance I may be moving cross country from the northeast to Austin.
Sooo excited by the prospects!! I may be hitting you Austinites up some day soon!

You guys should check out Nocturnal. It's about 40 minutes north of Austin in Rockdale. There's camping this year about a mile away from the venue

Fuck nocturnal I'm going to euphoria fest. Much better line up IMO and a local production company that I'd rather give my money to. Insomniac jerks Texas around, waiting months to post HALF of the line up, when they had line ups posted for events in other states that are months away!

Ehh, you can't say they're jerking Texas around intentionally. It's possible they weren't able to secure the line up for longer than expected, and didn't want to announce the first artists with some missing. It could be a lot of reasons. I wouldn't make assumptions about it. Maybe those who are in charge of Texas events at Insomniac just don't have their shit down.
But Apache Pass is a badass venue, and I've managed to have a great time the last two years.
I know I'll be there this year.
I go almost entirely based off the line up though, because it's all about the music, and Euphoria didn't seem to compare in my opinion.

Yeah but like I said I think euphoria has a better line up. Insomniac paid alotta money to have Tiesto headline, when they should've had Calvin Harris headlining. Dillon Francis should be legit too, those two artists are the only ones that I would really want to see. I just think I'll enjoy euphoria more because they have more than two DJ's that appeal to me. Yeah Apache Pass is a cool venue, I've been to the race track where mega buzz fail was and euphoria will be, and that place has major potential.

I visited once, so I'm no expert. It is a nice city with a unique feel. Texas is great state. There are better places in the States, but if you got a decent job lined up like you said might as well give it a try. Just think, you might have gotten that job in some small town with NOTHING to do at all, you'd have to travel far for something to do. It seems that Austin has a lot going for it. I'd go back for sure.

The lineup for Nocturnal is 12857895681361275238957891238912375890x better than Euphoria. You're making an awful decision...
Nocturnal: - Calvin Harris - MOTHERFUCKING HARDWELL - STS9 - R3hab - Pendulum - I guess Tiesto - I'm not a huge fan, but he puts on a good show - Bingo Players
Euphoria: - LA Riots
Yeah...

They've got a bit closed off from falling rocks, but it was absolutely beautiful. I found a few alternative trails that I went down, was wonderful. Had to cross the creek in waist deep water, and it was cold, but completely worth it.
The green belt is my absolutely favorite place ever.
hopefully my GF can cut back her hours some and we cant start going again on the regular....It's like an itch.

I'm excited to see LA Riots, White Panda, Calvetron, Glenn Morrison, Welder, Donald Glaude, and local DJ's Shwann, Andrew Parsons, and Davinci.
The only person I REALLY like off Nocturnal's line up, is Calvin Harris. Everyone else I'm just kinda meh. Also Euphoria will be smaller compared to Nocturnal, it will still be pretty big though. Nocturnal is the event EVERYONE knows about and people I know that went last year said it was alot of dubstep, alot of drunk bro's and assholes. Nocturnal is the event that everyone goes to, I think Euphoria will be more chill, and still pretty crazy.

Holy Hell, just got back from Austin. 1.5 days business, 4.5 days outdoors stuff. Fantastic. We put a ton of miles on the rental, did pretty much every location listed in this thread, and still didn't even put a dent in the list.
What a town.
Too bad its hot as shit 4+ months out of the year. Its gorgeous right now, but high 80s in March/April makes me nervous about July/August if I'm considering moving there.

Get's hot as hell here in the summer.
We had consecutive days (not sure how many) at/over 100f, last year, several times.

Don't move to Texas if you can't take the heat.
