Grinding to fin dust is good i've been told, but you gotta compress it in the jar so it wont get oxidized, or you could fill it with co2 to prevent oxidation that's what i've been told at least!!

with co2 does that mean next time you open it and get some out the co2 will come out?

What about if you don't compress, or have enough to does that mean that oxidasation occurs easly?

if so would it be best to store just dry.

-thanks

Just store them in an airtight jar (make sure it's completely air tight) if you do grind them into powder.
Either that, or just throw the dry shrooms into an airtight container.

oxidation will occur more easily if you grind the shrooms becuase you increase the total surface area that is exposed to the air. You can compensate for this by filling the jar all the way full so it has as little air in it as possible, and by filling it with an inert gas like CO2 or He.

My method of strorage is to vacuum seal them in food storage bags. In each bag is a little bag of damp-rid. Then the vacuum sealer sucks all the air out. Then I put them in a tupperware container. They seam to stay potent for a long time.

I used to use put them in glass jars with a little bag of damp-rid. It was pretty effective also.

Then one day my wife came home with this $150 vacuum sealer and says look what I got so we can buy food in bulk and store it. I was like Hmmmm

Finely powdered crisp-dry Cubies pressed tightly in an airtight jar (glass + metal: plastics breathe) stored in the freezer at -25'C / 4'F may not lose any potency after 2 years of storage, so i'm told by my neighbor's cat.

Should the feline be right, this might mean one can store Shrooms for 5-10 years in exactly this way and still retain a reasonable degree of potency.
