12 Jars were inoculated last friday. about half of the jars have no growth yet, the other half of the jars have a little bit of growth but the growth looks more beige (second picture) then a bright mycellium white ? however one of my jars seems to be about 90% colonized in 5 days, thought it was awsome since the tall pf jars are said to be considerably slower at colonizing, almost seems to good to be true lol
I just had 10 jars fully colonized in 8 days so it's not too out of the ordinary. You just know how to follow fucking instructions (unlike a lot of other people out there). Good job!

gotta disagree bro. No disrespect but it looks fine to me and I've had jars colonize almost as fast.

Result of a cake that took 3 weeks to colonize:

Guess I'm a tard because of the efficiency of the genetics and lack of incubation.
I stills say let them sit for a week. Just in case anything shows that should be there. You're not risking anything if that is in fact fully colonized by myc.

I had KSSS from multi spore fully colonized in 9 days I started a thread about the tc I had as well that was about 90. I am giving them two weeks consolidation.

The fact that I cannot see any rhizomorphic growth concerns me. If one were to colonize that quickly I would expect to see a lot of rhizomorphic growth, correct?

It takes some time for that kind of growth. rhizo is allot slower than dikaryotic.
It look like all dikaryotic myc or just a massive contam.
Time holds the answers for sure.

this isnt mycilium because it would have long strands of white instead of this powder like texture.

Yes true.
Spores do take a while to germinate anyways.
After thinking and more staring, I agree.

The jar in the second pic looks too wet to me. The jar in the first pic doesn't look like mycelium, sure it's white, but I don't see any rhizomorphic growth and it just doesn't look right.
What does it smell like? Does it smell like mushrooms? Or poop. I guess we'll just have to wait and find out.

you can see white spore deposits on the inside surface of the glass. There is clearly a contaminant in there which is close to the color of what you're looking for, but has sporulated directly from the mycelial stage which ,what you're looking for, does not do.

This is a natural case of an impossible event. TO tell me that your jars colonize in 9 days is just silly, its either a lie or some exxaaggerration. It takes 4-5 days for a MS spore load to germinate and at least 5 more before you see a reasonable large mycelium inside the jar. There may of course be exceptions but for now all I can say is that you are either making this up or that you lack concept of time and space.
If you "had" jars that grw that quickly then please link us to at least 3-4 other cases where this can be shown, blindly believing that germination + colonization can take place in less than 1 week is a dangerous idea to spread.
What the OP has in his jars is a clear case of contamination. I have seen countless myceliums grow and ive studied at least 60-70 jars under a magnifying glass and to this day I have never seen mycelium that looks like that.
The OP can do this to test his jar if he feels like it; smell it. Regular cube mycelium smells like fresh mushrooms and nothing else. If its trich, it will smell like trich smells. But it sure wont smell like cube mycelium.
There are methods to find out wether the OP suffers from a case of contamination or not and they are pretty simple to execute. Other than that I am of course grateful that people feel the urge to help.

Fitting name. I remember RR mentioning this type of contamination at some point, "white flaky growth, snow white" or something in that manner. This was a warning sign.

I'll back you on this brother! I've seen hundreds of jars/bags grow, and the only time i've had fast colonization is from g2g or agar to grain. With a good LC knock-up, i've had whole bags colonize in 14 days, but thats because of 30cc of strong LC and a good knead right after inoculation.
From spores, i've NEVER seen even 50% colonization in less than 10 days on 1/2 pints.
I'm still watching this thread cause im interested in seeing the contam result
