Get rare ones. You can trade a rare one for any other one you like in the marketplace. You can say a pokemon card is just a piece of paper too, but when you're trading... lol.
I liked BHT and OI. Some that I haven't grown, but seem interesting are: KSSS,Z-strain, Keepers creaper, and oak ridge.

"Also, this thread is about different "strains" of cubes, so I shouldn't even have answered you... but the info is out there if you look " -keeno
Yes, and properly chastised. Definitely outdoor beds planned, though. The favorite strain of cubes, if it is actually a strain, was said to be "P.E.S. Amazonian" allegedly a strain from "pacific exotic spores" that doesnt exist anymore. One that AFOAF wants to try cultivating is "Thai Koh Saumi super strain, as his brother told him of their magic and HIS success with them.
Any advice on first time cube cultivation is appriciated. Are there any strains, like in cannabis, that are more contamination resistant?(They live in the middle of the forest with mushrooms everywhere, and jellies and polypores, etc. And he is worried about contams when he tries the cubes. Contamination is more of a concern with indoor growing. Its rare to get contaminated outside.

BTW, which are the rare ones? I.e. which ones in this list are rare?
What are BHT (only thread I found was this: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/1303920#1303920) and OI?

I don't really think you can go wrong with most of these. They all have some potential. A single syringe could last you a couple years if you conserve it, so you might want to get a few "tried and true" in the mix. These are the ones I've never seen in the market place. I should hesitate to call them rare. But they would be uncommon enough to trade easily.

I agree, but how many syringes do you really need for a grow? A pint of LC could easily inoculate 50 cakes. The others would be for use in the future.

Hey, so I'm a little new, to everything within the mushroom cultivating world. I started my first grow about a week ago. I purchased the spores from a smoke shop, except, when I looked at the message printed on the sheet inside the spore package, it said that the spore was an Elm Oyster strain. All the research I've done on Elm Oyster mushrooms says that it is not a psychedelic strain, but more so a medicinal strain of mushrooms. NOT to say that psychedelia isn't medicine (; I bought this spore, asking for psilocybin cubensis, and the store clerk handed me this spore. Was I 'had'? he charged me forty dollars for the spore, so I'm hoping maybe the sheet saying its an Elm Oyster strain is just a cover to hide the fact that it's a psychedelic spore. Has anyone else experienced this? Or am I now accidentally growing medicinal mushrooms...

What color is the spore print? Elm Oysters would show a whitish print whereas all cubensis will be purple to almost black.
I'm sure somebody who's growing them (Elm oyster) will post soon...

The spore inside the syringe was close to water in it's appearance, just with a slightly darker discolouration.

Hey all,
I'm going to start a grow soon, and I'm having difficulty choosing a strain.
I know I know, a cube is a cube, but still, so many people say differently.
I'm considering Pink Buffalo, as I hear that they produce a wonderful, visual trip, but I'm having second thoughts, because most people seem to report that their fruits are very small.
I want a strain that is known for large and plentiful fruits, does well at lower temperatures, and produces a strong visual experience. Any suggestions?

GT is an infamous beginners strain.
I'd say B+ due the the strain's advantages. Yield and average fruit body size.
My 1st grow was GT PF and rye. Awesome results, even with mistakes made.

I hear B+ has a tendency to slack a little potency-wise. Golden Teachers I have considered... what are their characteristics?
