colonization time related to amount of spores injected
    #1577451 - 05/26/03 01:44 AM (15 years, 29 days ago)

Can someone shed some light on this topic?? I personally dont think that injecting additional spore solution into a jar will make the substrate colonize any faster but I have freinds  who swear by injecting 3-4ccs into a jar. My normal colonization period is between 2-4 weeks with 1.5ccs per jar. Has anyone ever completely colonized any faster by using more than that?? Has anyone ever done any research on this??

Some people do think more spore solution makes for faster colonization... but it would only shorten time by like... one to two days at the most... I mean come on...

I think it's better to save your solution and go for more jars if your limited on syringes, if not, go bonkers with the crap... hell, use spore solution for your spray bottle and go spray the town mushy good!

hey... that's a damn good idea... ima have to try that...  buahaha....

If your self sufficient, there's no reason not to stick alot of solution in your jars. It won't make the mycelium grow any faster, but it will start it from manyu different points. If you have a bunch of spores, relatively homogenously mixed in then colonization spreads from hundreds of points, not 4. It doesn't make sense to do it unless you make your own syringes.
