Pressure cooker/Jar Problem - Suggestions Please

I made an impulse buy on eBay the other day for a Mirro Matic pressure cooker that is 8 inchs across, 4.5 inchs deep - it was only $10 and today I went out and got some jars, I had the option to get tall 1/2 pint jars - or the smaller fatter 1/2 pint canning jars. I decided (figuring bigger yields) to get the taller ones. When I got home I realized the jars were about 4.5 inchs, I must not of been thinking at all. So my question is, should I return the jars and get the smaller fat ones and just use those? Or spend some money and get a bigger pressure cooker?

Well I guess to clarify-which jars would be better? The taller 1/2 pints or the short wider 1/2 pints.

wide mouths colonize a bit faster but ultimately it doesn't matter

You can get a pc at wal-mart for like $20.This one will hold 5 tall jars or 3 fat ones.As to which ones are better--i've used them both with wbs and the colonization speed seems to be about the same.Not to mention I can fit alot more of the tall ones inside my incubator.

I'm not to worried about colonization time-were the flushes different however?

Well these didn't appear to BE the same amount of substrate-if that makes sense, the tall ones were still half pint but looked easily twice the holding capacity-thats why I'm so bloody confused.
