Trays not completely colonized, but PINS?
    #15769037 - 02/06/12 03:47 PM (12 years, 11 months ago)

I did a couple of trays on the 18th of January. Coir and verm sub, but I layered the sub and spawn instead of mixing it all up and then added a 1/4" top layer.

It will be 3 weeks tomorrow, and the top of the sub is nowhere near completely colonized. There are very small white blobs (about the size of a pinhead) all over the surfaces though. I'm using the deep aluminum trays with the clear plastic top that pops on. There are no holes in the lids of the trays. So, maybe that's slowing colonization???

Today I looked through the clear top and saw 2 pins about half an inch tall. Are these trays ready to go into the fruiting chamber, or should I wait for the surface to colonize more?

Maybe put a few small holes in the clear cover and cover them with micropore tape?
