Pinning invitro before consolidation goal

So the one time I've decided to let jars consolidate for longer than the standard 7 days I get invitro pinning on day 4 of consolidation. I've read several threads lately discussing higher rates of potency by letting consolidate for up to a month. Since cakes are no longer my main focus I thought I'd let them be a while but pinning is happening so now I'm birthing. What the heck is up with that?

Your cake probably shrank like they should during this stage. Which may have caused more GE than necessary, actually giving it a bit of FAE. Which can cause the cake to start fruiting. Or it was just time and your cakes actually consolidated for longer than you think.

Shoot me a pm if you would like a powerful custom laser built. 4th pic is a 1.3W 445nm laser burning thru some plastic makeup containers. Yes I was wearing proper safety goggles, otherwise I would be blind right now.

Yeah they're going to do what they want I guess. But nah it was day 4. I always mark the dates of inoculation and full colonization just for easy reference. I just checked them yesterday too and no pins at all, today I found some that were over an inch long. It's all good though I don't mind being ahead of schedule, it was just a surprise!!

Lowering the temperature during the consolidation might help prevent preemptive pinning.

Actually not everyone was a noob. Being a noob is a very new phenomenon. Many people, the great majority in fact, were simply "beginners", "novices" or "new to mushroom growing". Being a "noob" is reserved, and in fact created specifically for and by, the newer, much more lame generations coming about.
