I'm considering this tek but the tutorial isn't very descriptive at the end it just says put into fruiting and introduce light.
Well, how would he maintain optimal humidity in that thing, because it's not clear for the light to shine through?? so I assume he has the lid off for fruiting.
Also there isn't a layer of perlite on the bottom like in monotub teks, I'm wondering where the humdity comes from and how to get as much FAE as possible.. How do you do the rest of the process after he left off, I guess sums it up. Thanks.
and after he mixed the spawn and substrate he just put in a open trash bag, can't it infect with bacteria before 10 days?

i am currently on a project following their steps... you can see my process here :

You dont have to use the same bin. You dont need perlite in a monotub the substrate holds enough moisture.
You introduce fruiting conditions after it is 100% colonized. Mushrooms dont need light to grow it just that 12 on 12 off light schedule improves growth.
For FAE you wanna switch from tape on the holes to loose poly-fill in the holes.

So lets say I follow his tutorial, when I go to fruit I just leave the lid on it, put polyfill in the holes, and the substrate will give off enough humdity, and there will be enough FAE through the polyfill or do I need to do anything additional?
and yeah I was just asking because of the color of the tub he used in that tutorial and I assume he uses a light, so if he has the lid off for the light to be able to shine through then seems the humidity would be really low unless he makes the whole room humid..
Just trying to understand things..

In the link i sent you... he explained what tub to chose and why. as you can see in my signature i made my own tub being a bit creative using Plexi-glass and sealed it with glue and AIR TIGHT it with silicone.
when you are ready to fruit you remove the hole's duct tape and replace polyfil (not too tight) to CONTROL the FAE and RH % of the tub ...
Regarding to lighting... although mushrooms do not need light to grow like zepski mentioned but its proven that you will have better pin set if you use a 20-30 WATT 6500K (day light cfl) 12 hrs on and 12 hrs off.
One more thing you can do is to place a fan on LOW faced to your tub for 15 minutes ...say 2 or 3 times a day and also mist your tub like 2 or 3 times a day too.
Again if there is any more questions im more than happy to help

oh ... one big difference i need to mention in Damion and TranscendingLife's threads is that : Damion uses coir/verm to cover the mix of spawn/sub. TranscendingLife Does not do that and he just mixes them all.
I pin pointed in detail that to TranscendingLife and he said that in his personal experience his tubs pinned better when the whole thing was mixed.
my current grow all the sub/spawn is mixed like TranscendingLife does it coz i wanted to see if it really does pin better.
but both work...so its ur call.
