Rice grain as spawn

So I have this little thing going where I cloned one bigger fruit of my recent "grow" with the clone syringe tek.
But basically I injected it into a small jar with brown rice grain and some synthetic cotton (viscose) in a hole in the lid as a filter.
I'm already seeing mycelium growing a bit and it looks like cube myc (it has this velvety gloss). I'm actually planning to start G2G that way, even without a PC.
RR mentioned that rice contains more starch and thus will clump in the glass (I could avoid that by shaking the clump into kernels, unfortunately some of them stick to the viscose in the lid now).
MY QUESTION is: Is the starch too much? Are colonized whole rice berries an acceptable spawn or will the myc be used to the very high carbohydrate content of the rice and thus perform poorly when spawned to coir for example? Any experiences or suggestions welcome.
Blurry cell phone pics following soon.
And here they are:

This Transkei Cube mycelium seems to be so non-rhizo by nature...

Thats my grain of choice.. Whole Brown Rice.. Ive found it to colonize A LOT more aggressively than WBS and BRF.
Day 8. Injected with 2cc GT LC

Edit: I just let it colonize as a cake (leave it for a day or 2 after 100%) then put it in a ziploc bag and break it up, it will break up to almost individual grains!!

AAAAAAWESOME
So I guess I shouldn't shake it at all, take wide mouth jars instead and do grain to grain by crumbling the clump inside of a disinfected plastic bag and pouring it into the other jars...

How much do you soak the brown rice for this? What should the texture be like?
Might give this a shot for edibles.

It SUPER simple to prepare the rice..
1. Measure out the rice. It will double in size, so if doing 2qts, use 1qt dry etc.. 2. Use double the water, so once again, if doing 1 qt dry rice use 2qts of water. 3. Bring it to a boil and cover it at medium heat (my stove goes from 1-10, i let it simmer at "4") 4. It should be 35-45 minutes before its ready, eat a little bit and check for yourself. 5. Strain it and "wash it", just run water through it for a few minutes. 6. Fluff it up with a fork 7. Fill your jars 8. Pressure cook
Basically cook it as if you were going to have dinner, but obviously dont add the salt/butter

I didnt know you wanted to do a g2g.. I'm not sure if this is the route you want to take then (the whole crumbling might compromise sterility)

I'm rather going about it in the way of the Let's grow mushrooms videos:
1: Wash out dirt multiple times 2: Boil in water for 10-15 minutes (just to hydrate but to keep the hull of the grain intact) 3: Wash the starch away with cold water to inhibit gluing together 4: Fill jars half way up with grains (to be able to shake it better) 5: Steam sterilize for 90 mins 6: Shake (or wait until cold and then break up/shake)
That way the rice looks pretty dry but is hydrated enough to nurish the mycelium. Have fun.
Oh yes and I forgot to say that I steam sterilized it twice actually because after the first time when trying to shake it I realized that I had put too much rice into the jar, so I had to open it again and get some of it out.
Now it has been only a week and there are like ten or twelve little dots of myc in between the grains which I had shaked right after inoculation. I expect it to become an isolate of one of the more sucessful specimen of my unsatisfying grow.

This seems it'd be a good choice for sclerotia, anyone tried that?

I am working with Brown Rice grain now. If this works, I plan on writing a short tek for it. Basically, I am not pre-cooking my rice. I am soaking it for 24 hours, then I will load them up into jars (I actually use Ziplock plastic containers) and steam pastuerize for 90 mins.
I have reada few posts that talk about using Whole grain rice, but I have never see a tek written out for it. Maybe you should write one up too so we can compare notes.

The tek is as above. It can be seen in the Let's grow mushrooms videos, only with rye. And I try to wash the starch off after the hydration boil and shake the jar after steam sterilisation and after cooling to break the kernels up.
There's not much more to this variation of the regular grain prep tek IMO.

But no overnight soak or calcium compound as with rye berries, right?

Well not this time. No gypsum, no soaking just like in RRs video, except for the PC. And I haven't done rye berries yet.
pics update
