Any buskers here?

I recently quit a full time job to street perform full time. I am not making as much, (though i wasnt making that much there anyway. lol) but im a lot happier and its a lot easier to get my requisite 6-8 hours of practice time in.
I got a spot at a trader joes in the strip mall my girl works at that i can count on an easy 30 bucks for a few hours of play time. Made 84 bucks in the last two days, paid my phone bill and have money left over. I also like finding all the cool coins, wheaties, bicentenials and, foreign coins.
I enjoy it immensely, people are very generous and they really enjoy it. Im glad the strip mall randomly changed the rules to allow buskers. I found it odd that they did, but im not complaining!
any street perfomers here? show yourselves! what do you do whats your act?

I used to play djembe out by a strip of bars in my city. Sometimes Id post up on the bridge off strip. Other times Id post up outside the Indian Garden or La Bamba.
Busked with guitar when I was much much younger.
have also busked a few times while traveling across country, with a sitar.

Where i'm from we call them panhandlers. I've done a comedy act for beer before, if that counts

Really? Well as long as were talking about street people...if you give a bum a dollar and ask him if he knows where to find a hookup i promise some good results.

i have been practicing here on campus. set up on a coffee shop veranda on the university mall, i havened asked for money yet. I will soon, im starting to get a draw. Using a martin 000-15 twelve fret mahogany, and a roland street cube amp. i want to hit san diego my next break, i think i can pull some coin in. i also try to entertain between songs, do some cheap magic stuff nonchalantly, and a bit of comedy.

I use a G&L Comanche and a street cube. I do improvisational jams mostly.
The cube totally paid for itself within to weeks of buying it. the amp makes the difference. if the people can hear you from farther away they have more time to decide to tip you.

I'm planning on starting busking for my first time once the weather starts to be a little bit more agreeable. I hear nothing but good stories about it so I'm pretty excited.
I'm probably just gonna set my case down and improvise in open tunings and hope people throw money at me.

It works best with a gimmick. When i used to play guitar on the street, the guy who would play guitar while hula-hooping always seemed to get more money. I thought i sounded better.

I like to use DGDGBD or DGDGB♭D
They both lend themselves well to playing alone.
I'll write yours down someplace and give it a shot.

Nah just the madison panhandlers every weekend. Lots of fun to go around smoking a joint and tipping musicians.
