Anyone ever have a slow growing prolific fruiting clone?
    #15762718 - 02/04/12 11:58 PM (12 years, 11 months ago)

A while back i cloned a mushie from a nice cluster to agar.  It was my first time working with agar.  I decided not to "clean" the culture/ transfer to another dish. Instead i went straight to a grain jar.  So the growth was initially a little slow (which ive read is common when going from agar to grain)  It took days before any signs of growth.  The growth in the jars was rhizomorphic but slow.  It colonized a pint jar in about 3 weeks.  I did g2g  to quart wbs jars, which took a full month to colonize.  Thats the longest ive ever waited for quart wbs jars to fully colonize.  I expect the slow colonization trend will continue in the monotubs I'm planning.  Maybe I'll add a little extra spawn to boost times a bit.

I Intended on using pins but i didnt get my agar in time and had to use a more mature specimen.  I suspect that the mycelium may possibly be weak.  I hope not:sad:  So back to the question: Anyone ever have a slow growing prolific fruiting clone?
