Dog hair in liquid cultures??

Ok, so I have a dog that sheds a lot. It wasn't until after I had sterilized my liquid cultures in the pressure cooker and about to noc them up the next day when I noticed there was a couple of dog hairs in a few of the jars. I nocced them up anyways, cause why not? But do you think a pressure cook for 20 plus minutes would sterilize any possible contams from a couple of dog hairs? Or is this going to be an automatic contam city?
Thanks

You should be fine, I've experienced the same thing on occasion. The mycellium seem to cling to it.

Ok. Thanks. That's what I was hoping to hear. Here's hoping these cultures come out clean.

It should be fine if you can find a clean enough place to inoculate them.
When I've ever tried to grow in a place that had excessive dander and hair to the point where its in everything its been very problematic. I would loose at least 40% of my projects. I wont even attempt to make spore syringes or anything other than cakes.
I would take some time and really really clean stuff up as well as you can. I hate trying to grow in houses that have to many pets.
Best of luck.

Nah. It's a problem for sterile work, but not once it's been sterilized.
I've tossed in some stuff into LC's and not had a problem. So far just toothpicks and shredded paper towel. Both worked. Next is going to be food coloring and cow blood.

U just described me and what I go through lol I literally lost 4/10 tubs to contams pretty recently so you got that estimate right on. I have to buy a couple HEPA fans to run like all day before spawning tubs because my house has so much dust and hair and trich spores that stick to em all. (still live with mom she has like 2 old stinky dogs, countless cats, and a bird) and there's three of us in a small 2bdrm the size of a studio with all the animals currently going through some hard times trying to move actually....
I have no issues with my grain jars though, they all colonize perfectly fine because the silicone injection ports keep everything out and I don't remove the foil from the top until right AFTER I flame the needle. I flame, then while red hot immediately and swiftly bring syringe in still air box, take alum foil off a jar, and inoc 2-3cc of glc really quick and swift through port. Re flame and repeat on another jar.
I use glc. All glc I make is done through custom silicone injection ports with a proper lid filter. I'm paranoid about spore printing and any g2g or open transfer work because my house is dirty with overloads of animal hair and trich. But glc is performed in an isolated, sterile environment with silicone ports and syringes.
