10 days after inoculation

and only 2 out of 12 jars are showing signs of colonization what is the max to to wait to see signs from the other ones before i know they are failed jars ??help please :smile:

I've had them take almost three weeks once to germinate and show signs.

wow realli that long .. cuz some of them have quite a smell to them will that contaminate the other jars if they are in a closed closet?

Yep three weeks. I had given up on them after like 2 weeks. I had just moved the tub they were in to the door and planned to clean them out and try again. Well I got lazy and they sat there for another week or so and when I opened them up I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had started.

Yeah if they smell bad you should get them outta there. Also closets aren't a very good place to grow. All that stagnant air and darkness really gives the contaminates a good edge on the mushrooms.

i'd at least seperate those bad boys... that faint smell may get worse...

Any smell, other than the normal mushroomy smell, faint or not indicates they are contaminated and explains why there is no growth. There's really no hope for those with the odor, it's bacteria vs. nothing, the bacteria is going to win. Any that don't smell though there is still hope for.
