H/Poo composting - How long is too long?

I recently started back into my favorite hobby, and I was rounding up old supplies. Had a couple trash bags of horse manure that I had set aside because they were too fresh, and still had a urine content. Well some 2 years later I decided to find them and check it out, what I found was completely composted poo. Like you can't tell it was ever poo, its completely turned into a soil, no hay at all. And it contains some of those little oval shaped grey bugs.
I read a post about 11 years old saying not to over compost because it will lower yields. Doesn't seem like it could, especially since I'm just using it to beef up my coir based substrate. Compared to coir/verm/gypsum alone it would have to be better, correct?

If other fungus, bacteria, bugs, etc. are eating your horse poo, there won't be as many nutrients left for the shrooms. You also want the consistency that promotes quality spreading or growth.
That said, I look at cow poo and wonder how shrooms can grow in it, but grow they do.
So I believe it can sit too long. Fresh poo seems to have beneficial bacteria and such that help the shrooms. I'm willing to concede to someone that knows more, but when you have bugs in your poo it's time to get something more fresh.

Sounds pretty old to me too. I dunno I don't even really like the cow poo you get at all the stores that has been composted for six months.

I looked at it again today in daylight instead of flashlight and it still seems pretty fibrous., the grey bugs only seem to be taking shelter in one bag. I'm gonna spread it out to dry up a little so they will evacuate. This stuff seems very rich, and again, I'm only using it to add nutrients to the coir. From the additional research I've done, it seems the only problem is getting muddy, but its not really broke down that much.
I can't possibly imagine it hurting my substrate to add 25% of this. I'm going to be doing a grow log here soon with a couple different tubs. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.
