Grow bag internal temp?

I'm just wondering what the fluctuation is between room temperature and inside grow bags usually. 5, 10, 15 degrees more inside the bag? Id rather not have someone with just a guess, as I could guess myself, just wondering if anyone has gauged this.
Thanks. It's a mad season bag btw with indirect fluro light atm. About 65 degrees in the room.

Test it. Mycology is a science because you can test things. Stab it with a thermometer. They won't say thank you, but you'll find out with certainty.
Insulation will cause a delay in heat conduction, and a little plastic isn't a whole lot. A delay in heat conduction might protect it from a sudden spike/drop, but not constant exposure. There's a lot of water in the sub, and water is 25 times better at conducting heat than air. Although the substrate create some heat as it digests the substrate, I don't think it will be enough to counter the constant exposure to water and room temps. I can't tell you for sure, because I haven't tested it. But I can tell you that it will not be too hot/cold to grow.
Also, you can give it direct light. You'll get bigger mushrooms.

It is my understanding that different strains grow better at different temps. Research your strain!

Cubes all have the same growing parameters. They are all tropical species at heart. You will get genetic variation, as they are all over the world. But they still like the same basic stuff.

I think you misinterpreted me.
And yeah I'm all for for experimenting but the 6 bags I have going right now are just starting and id rather not risk contaminating one of them if someone else has already done the same test. But yeah I guess there are some variables.

I saw a 3-5 degree average difference above room temp in one of mine I stuck a digital thermometer with a 320 degree capacity sterilized and stuck through the injection port. I was curious as well nothing major.

Ah nice, thanks for that. I'll maybe incubate them then with some FAE holes, might speed things up a little.

no need to incubate bro, If it feels comfortable in the room wearing a t-shirt your mycelium is comfortable too. Also if you have multiple bags you can set them all together touching each other and they will stay warmer if your workin with lower temps.

I bet that thermometer didn't reach the center of the bag where it's the warmest.

Colonize your substrates at normal room temperature. You don't need an incubator at all. 75F is OK for quart jars, but if you're using large spawn bags, keep the temp to 65F or less. I keep my colonization room at 60F. When I point the infrared thermometer at my colonizing substrate bags, they're at 80F to 85F, for a 20 to 25 degree rise above ambient. RR
