Hello friends... I am joining to shroomery forum from a country which you cant find brown rice everywhere ( i am not even going to talk about brown rice flour )... Anyway my situvation is : i am not a beginner yet. I am collecting All this info and Waiting for golden-teacher spore print which senden by my friend. So ... I have been thinking about pf tek cakes, since i dont have a pressure cooker But also i dont have the brown rice flour. Here 1 kg brown rice is like 10 dollars... And the thing is i need to convert it to flour some how ..( buying hammer or blender ) ...
Even thinking of this all process makes me tired and poor in my mind. Well i guess i am gonna buy a pressure cooker and i am gonna go with grain (rye) -  I hope i will find a pressure cooker which has that little pressure measurement on the lid ( its gona be expensiver thou ) ... And want to ask you .. Is there any way to understand that you catch 15 psi in without measurment instrument for pressure cooker ... I am talking about simple pressure cooker... Thank you .. Yo

Search "steam sterilization". Works fine for PF Tek, I can't even tell you how many jars I made using this method and never had a single one contaminate.

Dump the rice in a blender and grind it up. That's what I always did, this state is full of huge fat-asses and brown rice flour is probably too healthy.

you don't need the gauge my old one didn't have one and I never had a problem. 
there nice to have but not necessary for sterilizing grain

Bishap so how do you understand that you dont excess the 15 psi or you reach to 15 psi ... Please do share how your way was..

I just turned the stove on a simmer let the water heat up put the lid on and cook for 1+ hours nothing special
its the steam that sterilizes from what I understand the pressure just speeds things up

Galaxy yes man i did search ... But i have been impressed by flat cake by rye ... İt seamed to me pf teks are so light after i lookes flat caked... And brown rice is expensive man ..:frown:...  İ may be impressed too much .. Alot facts.. &s

they come with pop valves for that reason and it should be fine you don't need the water boiling just steaming. the weight should maintain12-15psi

Thank you man :smile:  ... So  right now ... Price of brown rice + blender  Or  pressure cooker .. One more thing ... Friends what you think about pf tek cakes ... And flat cake ... İs there any advantage or disadvantages between ?
