not having mirrors would be fucked up. Like SERIOUSLY fucked up.. you'd never quite know exactly what you looked like.

But then, I guess we still don't. I mean we look in a mirror and all we see is what we look like when we're looking in the mirror. damn. That's SERIOUSLY fucked up.

Um.................yeah.

What if everything around you
Isn't quite as it seems?
What if all the world you think you know,
Is an elaborate dream?
And if you look at your reflection,
Is it all you want it to be?

you know whats reeaaaally fucked up? when you are in those bathrooms that have 4 mirrors, and the two on the end have hinges so you can angle them towards tghe other mirrors, and when you look you can see your reflection trailing off into infiniti.

thats fucking wierd.....its really metaphorical for really deep stuff.

yea.. like... the universe, its like BIG man.. you know?

there is something trippy about bathrooms in general... or maybe i spent too much time standing in them on lsd, having deep person mental revelations.. But whatever it is, I always get this strange feeling in them, like they are little rooms cut off from the rest of the world.

yeah... like we all know what the other is doing in there, but we don't really acknowledge it openly to eachother. Have you ever seen a guy get out of a toilet stall and say "boy that was a good shit!"?

I always wonder about that other guy who looks just like me and lives exactly my life only backwards and inside out. Even when I'm not looking at the mirror he's there typing on the shroomery wondering about me

Go through the orange yesterday

I watched intently for a while to both sides, infront of me and behind me.
I was impressed to learn there was another way to look... UP!
More impressive still was the fact that there were beautiful stars in this direction
Most amazing fact of all was the prospect of another direction when I was done with up. DOWN! Which, based on the feel through my toes would be a fine sandy beach!

In one of the short stories in Stephen King's "Everything's Eventual," there's this dude who writes down and collects things written in public restrooms heh, planning on making a book full of them

Mirrors are awsome tools...you can learn many secrets about yourself and the universe just by looking into one sober, high or tripping. I must have spent hundreds of hours looking into my bathroom mirror over the last year...If you truly want a spiritual experience trip alone at night in your bathroom. Meditation while tripping = necessary as does looking into a mirror. The most awsome experiences of my life have taken place in my bathroom :}.

For one thing I hate mirrors because they make people self conscious about how they look. I wish I had no idea what I looked like.

On the other hand, mirrors are fucking awesome. My neighbor had a bathroom that was ALL mirrors, every wall surface was covered with a reflective material. It was the craziest fucking thing to watch a million of me taking a piss in the toilet. I never got to trip in there or anything, I'd imagine it would freak me out.

Hi Everyone.  As you can see I am new to responding to topics on here.  But I read the threads often.

I am a Feng Shui consultant and I just had to respond to a thread on mirrors.

Mirrors in Feng Shui are powerful objects.  It is believed that mirrors reflect our energy or our soul not our physical bodies.  That is why there are days you can look in the mirror and think Wow I look great and then the next day you look in the mirror and you think you look fat even though you weigh the same.  Your energy is seeing your body differently as your energy or spirit and emotions change from day to day.

Happy Chi!

Welcome, stranger! That's an interesting perspective, and I tend to agree.

In general though, I think our society would be a lot better off with less mirrors. Have you ever noticed mirrors being in the most useless of places? Like on the pillars in a department store, etc. When you think about this it's obvious that human beings have an unhealthy obsession with their physical appearance.

The mirrors on those pillars do actually have a purpose. They are used to hide unsightly structural features (the pillar). The mirrors reflect the energy of the objects around it replacing the energy hidden behind the mirror. And... it doubles the amount of goods to be sold (visualy) therefore bringing more money into the store. Many stores use Feng Shui in their design and decorating, eg. The Body Shop.

Happy Chi

It isn't obsession, it is evolution. Good looks indicates good genes and thus good for breeding successful offsprings. Unless of course you live in an artic region where fat help survival.
