i posted this over in contams, but nobody is touching it....  i know there's more traffic over here......  in my head, i'm almost positive that's what it is, but having trouble with the idea of throwing out so many jars when i really would rather spawn monos today....  opinions?

1. you made two threads concerning your one problem.

2. This belongs in the Contamination forum.

3. You got a lotta jars there. wouldn't hurt to open just one of those up to give it a whiff, if it smells horrendous, you've got yourself a bacterial infection going on.

Same exact thing happened to my WBS jars recently, some just never grew, and some had growth that was extremely stunted though the myc looked healthy and white. I'm spawning them in a few hours actually, to tons of half pint plastic containers, using coco coir, and a little H2O2. I'm also going to provide them a little more than normal gas exchange, and hopefully i can isolate what's good, and what isn't.  But to spawn them all to one tub if theres a bacteria problem, would be a bad idea i think.
As far as smelling them thats worth a try I think, I opened mine up and they smelled like almost nothing, and one smelled  alittle mushroomy.  But the ones that were far behind smelled absolutely dreaful, so i know bacteria is the problem.  Hopefully my idea can save them, i'll take lots of pictures if it goes well.  Perhaps you could do something similar. But if it's bacteria spawning them all to one tub seems like a bad idea. Good luck to you!

hahahahahahaha, you guys are :lolsy:

forgot to mention, that you can small 'em through the filter and they smell fucking great....... and you thought that was a lot of jars, you should see the rest of the closet, you'd shit.....

i shook a few of them up to see if that would release any funk smell (it just made them smell even better) and also to see how they recolonize (since they were pretty much fully colonized, i figure if it is bacteria, shaking them will spread it and it will come back looking worse, and if it's not, they will be good and ready to go tomorrow.....  i'm a hypochondriac, especially when it comes to this hobby....

and it is in the contamination forum,. it was getting no replies so i came over here with it..... like i said in the OP.....

edit: just because i'm as much of a hypochondriac as i am when it comes to this stuff, i went ahead and opened one and it smelled just fine, but i'm still skeptical...... anybody?
