I am not sure where to find a feed store though I live in a state in which it is extremely important haha but IF and only IF my friend an I decide to go the easy way is would this work? It says its natural and such so it may not be treated? I am not sure if this would work its for crafts or something but maybe I can use it for my hobby. http://www.fleetfarm.com/catalog/product_detail/holiday-seasonal/indoor-decor/autumn-thanksgiving/floracraft-straw-bale
Worm casting have been incredibly difficult for me to find offline has any one had any luck with fleet farm, Lowes, Home Depot, and any other stores hopefully based in the midwest lol

i have never used lowes or a commercial store for worm casing. i would always talk to a local fish and tackle store. They usually get their worms locally( at least in my area). They might even have some containers that worms died in sitting around. Feed and Seed shop might be a shot.
If you really want good organic worm casing you can buy worms online or dig them up the old fashion way. Red worms are the best, they process the "matter" better then night crawlers. Most indoor grow op's will use them for this also.
IMO, i would just buy some worms and make my own worm casing. its not hard to doo. It only takes about a month to get casing out of your tub. Also you will have a constant influx when ever you need it.
It takes a large monotub with about 100 holes in the top. Place it in an are under your house or in a shed that doesn't get very hot. The worms will "MELT" if you doo. I would say no more then 80 degrees at the most. Add poo, egg shells, dirt, other various nutrients to help them on their way. DO NOT add rotten food or moldy stuff this will contaminate your future projects. Not to mention it will smell and draw bugs.
Just look online on how to start your own.
Good Luck

A good place to find worm castings would be at a local plant nursery...
Temps for worms are best closer to 60~70degF, iirc.
Worms eat the micro-organisms that are eating the food waste; they do not eat the actual food waste directly
-------------------- Please assume any and all prints exchanged are "WILD" in nature; and thus, should NOT be considered ASEPTIC...
NOTE: Please excuse my brevity, as it is a bitch 'n' a half and slow as hell to type on this here phone
