I want to know how you work with your Laminar Flow Hood? I mean the whole process. From desinfect the table to transfer Agarpieces or inoculate jars.
I used the search function but I cant find anything about this......
I have always slightly contams on Agarplates. Could it be that I need more practise???
When you work, whats the distance (~) between Flow Hood and working area????
THX in advance, mobyd

As little as possible, ie 10-20 cm.

Anno did you get my E-Mail???
The last time I worked with my LFH I used my Humidifier with a H2O2 Solution (let it run for about 20 mins). Maybe I can reduce contamns this way......

I don?t know...
It should work. Normally. Do you wash your hands thoroughly before doing work? Did the filter get injured perhaps during assembly?

I always wash my hands with Hot water and soap. Then I spray Ethanol on them.
But I think I know now why I cant work sterile. Thats due to the frame of the filter. Its a wood frame and I always forgot to spray Alcohol on it. There was even a little dust on it!!! Hope that was my problem...... I?ll keep you updated.

Mobyd...when you shut down your flow hood, wipe it down well, a little alcohol on a rag helps and it really doesn't harm the wood....cover it with a heavy guage plastic and apply a little tape as may be needed.....I have one like the TLG flow hood (10 of them originaly) it's simply a matter of cleaning it up and flipping it face down on a clean surface...
