Hi everyone,
I just inoculated some Pan. Cyan LC. I was wondering what you guys thought the best method would be to fruit these? I am trying to decide between a poor man's pod, or a tub with a humidifier. I know that Cyans are more finicky about RH and temp, which is why I am leaning toward the PMP over a SGFC or tub with humidifier.
I figure with the PMP, there will be constant humidity, which will be easier to dial in than a humidifier running in bursts. I can also submerge a heater directly in the PMP to adjust temperature, other methods I would be using a space heater.
I plan on spawning WBS cyan jars to a horse poo/verm or coir/horse poo/verm mixture in shallow pans, 1.5" deep. I will then apply a pasteurized casing mixture of verm/peat moss .5" thick and cover the pans with foil and let them sit for 3 days or till the casing layer is colonized. I will then fruit them at 100% humidity 78-80 F until I see pins, at which point I will drop the humidity to 95%.
Also, I am doing a large monotub of P. Cubensis. I was thinking of placing two holes each at substrate level on the long sides, and one hole each near the top on the short sides of the tub.
What do you guys think?

Come on guys, at least give some input on the monotub hole placement. I'll post pictures of the jars and LC I've shot up when I get a chance

Check out stonesun's grow in the 'Just as easy as cubes' series:

From the way that went, I'd say go tub.
Watch your grains/sub after squirting your LC. Its hard to tell if an LC is contaminated until you use it.
Oh! And good luck!

Thanks man. I will check that thread out. I think I stumbled across it a while back. I just think I want to have more control over the humidity than what he does in that grow (small tub). I did a small tub cube grow recently and would like to have more control over the humidity. I know he got results in that thread, but stonesun is just amazing lol.
Also, I plan on testing the LC on a few small jars before shooting the entire batch. I'm only going to need a few quarts (maybe 1, depending on how many trays I do) so I'll only shoot one test Cyan jar. Which reminds me, does any one have pics/description of Cyan mycelium? I heard it was wispy and grey and should only be shaken once during colonization. Thanks!

Ya, I'm pretty sure poo is necessary. I think I'm gonna do a mix 50/30/15/5 Horse Poo/Coir/Verm/Gypsum like stonesun uses in that thread posted.

Both Breeders and Workman have had good success fruiting them on cased rye grass seed.
