Go to cigar shops and buy the ones used for cigar rooms. NON-DIGITAL

According to RR you arent going to be able to buy a good hygrometer.  I think they are wastes of money anyways.  Build a SGFC and put the money you would have spent on the hygrometer in your pocket.  As long as you follow the teks RH will never be a problem

Most analog are good since you'll be able to adjust it and you should every other week, give or take.

Here's a few

The first three are decent. You shouldn't pay over $10 for one IMO.

I do the salt test for calibration. Take a bottle cap fill 2/3 with salt fill remaining with water place in a ziplock bag with your hygrometer. Leave a little air in it and sit for 24 hours it needs to read 75% rh. If it doesn't adjust it so it does.

Source - family member owns a cigar shop and this is how he calibrates them.

Ya I did the salt test. Sorry but not worth a shit. I tried the damp towel test and the humidity didn't even change on my digital hygrometer so I know it's not working right.

Yeah, I think the salt test is to calibrate the hygrometer to a lower humidity.  Cigars do not need to be at 95% RH. To calibrate for high RH, the wet towel method does seem to work better.

You can go to just about any pet store that sells reptiles or amphibians and they sell the small analog hygrometers that actually work quite well. And most of them are less than $10

But the Shotgun Fruiting Chamber really is the way to go if you are going to fruit PF Tek. If you are really worried, you can spend the money and build you a Martha complete with humidifier.

I am unaware of a quality analog hygrometer for less than $50~60...  Even then; their accuracy is +/-4~5%...

Much better off learning to "read" your grow

Yea, hygrometers definitely become a waste of time over time.  You gotta feel it out for a while.  Then you won't need a little device to tell you what's humid or not humid enough.  The fungus will tell you  better than the hygrometer will.
