IMPORTANCE OF TEMPERATURE VARIATION...
    #1574825 - 05/24/03 06:13 PM (13 years, 6 months ago)

HI EVERYONE.
..... my friend is growing mushrooms in a terrarium with a lightbulb inside regulated by timer?, wich makes the temperature vary between 68?F and 86?F.Is this variation too problematic for the mycelium growth??should i search for some other method to keep the temperature constant in 80?F ?? What have you done to reach a constant temperaure ?? please i need some ideas because i m thinking in changing my actual method..

i ve read about putting a tupper inside another one an put water in the big one so to keep the temperture constant with those regulators of temperature for acuariums.., but i loose too much space for cultivation because of the big tupper..

Welll thats it ..thanks for reading this and for any of your ideas...take care.....bye

room temp is fine, so there is no need for temp variations. but, as one that thinks fluctuations help growth, it sounds like an awesome idea really, but vary it from i'd say 65-78 (or around there/whatever lol) and it all comes down to trying to imitate nature-so why not do it?? a night temp to a day temp on a 12 on/off would sound perfect. the foaf has done minor fluctuations-room temp of 68 or so then up 10 dgress more or less whenever the foaf felt like putting his light on, which was once or twice a day for 4 hours to 24.
