Humidity issue

Did the salt test on my hygrometer and it's reading 74 percent which is 1 percent off accurate.. I can't get humidity to go up past 92 percent humidity and have perlite, humidifier and aquarium pump. It's a 35 gallon tub so don't know if maybe the lid is leaking. I put window weather stripping around the lid so it looks airtight but the humidity is still reading around 89-92 percent rh

I would not consider this a problem, if you had humidity below 80, that is when I would consider this a problem, just my 2 cents.

Big tub, how deep is your perlite? That big, I wouldn't go less then 8 inches. I know you did the salt test, but it still just might be your hygrometer. I know it's a big tub, but personally I would make it into a shot gun fruiting chamber.

Salt test? Wrap the hydrometer in a damp towel. Let it sit in the damp towel for an hour. Take it out and look at it. If the hydrometer reads 99 then it is working fine. If it doesn't it needs to be calibrated. To calibrate it turn the screw on the back of the hydrometer until the meter read 99.

Yea, thats right, according to RR, you want to use the wet towel test not the salt test.

I know you guys are going to yell but it's a digital hygrometer with a probe. Is it ok to wrap a wet towel around the probe. It's an exo terra digital temp/ humidity gauge

My humidity stays at 99% for a few hours(10am - 3pm) after I mist and fan them, between 10am and 3pm it drops down to 90ish, sometimes 89-88.. I think if you stay above 87ish you should have no problem
P.S. 87ish being the lowest
