I have never used rye flour but I have read it works just fine.  Though, I think you have to use less water as the rye flour gets gummy and sticky if you use too much.

I've heard of it working, but never tried it. I think you better leave the water ratio alone though. You add the water to the verm and then add the flower, so the verm will have no problem absorbing the water and it shouldn't get sticky. I think brf is more nutritious though

so on 1-31-12 i noc up 16 WRF(whole rye flour) cakes i used a MS Tex syringe witch i made myself and i also had mys growing in it witch worked awsome..

now i used 4 cups flour and 8 cups verm 4 cups water, the verm and the water was mixed up very well on its own and the water was slowly added.

the rye flour does seem to be a lil on the sticky side so if you add the water slowly it helps a ton

so today with 11 of them ready to go its time for the soak

ive lost only 1 to contams(trich) it went in the fire place..
and i have 4 that i will give a feww more days to consolidate some more.

i wana keep this updated cuz there seem to by a few of us on here that wounder how good rye flour work, weather it is more prone to contams, and weather it seems to have the nutrition that BRF has..

when i noced these bad boys up i used 1 syringe that had about 8cc in it and i had 5 inoc points in each jar(do to the plastic one i am using are a lil biger then an half pint jar) and with just a few drops in each point(1cc per every 2 or 3 jars) every inoc point grew:dancer:

here are a few of the cakes that grew mushies during colonization next time i will cover a few of the inoculation points to help the co2 levals i lezt the small ones and picked the big ones :mushroom2:

so in the bucket for 24 hours

will keep up dated un till the grow is finished:cheers:

yup, Enoki Gold.
Here's the Grow Log:
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/15365181

My CO2 levels weren't high enough w/ just wrapping the plastic like that, which is why the caps are so large.
This is how they should've came out:

well, I wouldn't be disappointed by that. It's funny, hearing someone say, "my co2 wasn't high enough" in mush cult. Did you buy the lc? Sometimes I find "velvet foots" but the wild ones are about 10 miles from that, so I never considered messing with them

Just making sure others that see them know what I did wrong.
& I tell a lot of people that their CO2 levels aren't high enough in MC.
Because a lot of people don't have high enough CO2 levels when colonizing bulk.

You may want to try bran next time.
It's a bit slower to colonize but has more nutrients than BRF or Rye flour.
