I hate being mortal..(Inspired by Ethnobotanical's thread)
    #15740152 - 01/30/12 08:26 PM (12 years, 2 months ago)

The fact that something could go wrong at any moment and ruin my already shitty life.  The fact that we all share the same fate.  Rotting in a casket or burnt to ashes, or left to decompose on the street.  Shit sucks..I wish I was god.  Shit would be way different in the universe.

Suck it up man...We all have to die, instead of being sad that you are gonna die be happy that you were given a chance to live.

True.  But due to reasons beyond my control my quality life has diminished from what it could have been.

But why? Living forever would be such a pain in the ass IMO. I only need to live once. Consciousness itself is enough of a burden for me. I hope it ends with death to be completely honest. What a relief that will be... not that i'll be able to experience it after initially dying, but you know what I'm getting at. The experience of dying and knowing that it's all over I think will be really awesome. The realization that you don't have to deal with anymore bullshit. That in itself is reason enough to consider death a release rather than a confinement.

Dying being the end of everything sounds good on paper.  But when you approach death and stare it in the eyes the thought of not existing forever is rather frightening.

I agree. It seems to me that you must have extremely heavy and consistent depression to kill yourself, or you have to be a person with poor impulse control.

This is pretty much how I view it now. Suicide seems so enticing and peaceful sometimes. On those days where I just don't have the energy or motivation to get out of bed, ending it all with a few breaths seems rather alluring.

Fuckin right man. I couldn't go through with it till my dog dies tho. I can't imagine leaving her here alone without me. I know she'd be fine, but I'd feel better knowing she was at peace. Then I will be at peace to die. I've got about 10-12 more years before I'm ready to go

Had you read my earlier posts you would be aware that my dog is what keeps me alive. Another dog after that may do the same. IDK. All i know is that when my current dog dies, I haven't anymore legitimate reason to exist unless a new pup changes things.

I read your earlier posts and don't buy it. If you believe it is a release free of worries and concerns after you die then you would off yourself regardless of the temporary benefits the dog brings you now. How could the temporary outweigh the unending? Especially when the dog is only a part of life and there are many other factors in play?
