[WIP] Essay on illegal drug legalization
    #15738780 - 01/30/12 03:49 PM (12 years, 22 hours ago)

Hello Shroomery.

I was not sure where to place this essay, but I felt this was the best place to put it. Please keep in mind this essay is a WIP (work in progress) and will be editted over time. The reason I want to put it up here is so I can get some feedback on it.

Basically I want to get this piece of writing to a point where I can present this with value to the media. I think you all can agree this will be beneficial to our cause. I want to get this information into as many peoples hands as possible, because I feel I have part of the answer to our drug problem. However this problem goes beyond just little ol' me and I am going to need the aid of multiple minds to meld this into something that can actually be effective enough to change the perspective of people today.

So please feel free to provide any constructive criticism. I am here to make this the best that it can be - so be as critical as you can be.

Now without further ado, here is the piece of writing:

EDIT: I have just learned something that is going to change my entire argument. Until I have reconstructed the essay with the new information I will not put it up here.

For those curious: Basically I became an addict to cocaine. After I stopped using, I thought that it was the cocaine that caused me to get addicted and not me. I felt this way because cocaine is highly addicting, and the fact that these drugs being illegal were what placed them in "harms way" for me. However that is wrong. If I am really going to change peoples minds about illegal drugs than realizing this is crucial. It is not drugs who kill people, it is people. Even if they're illegal and the information is not widespread, it does not matter. The information is out there and as a human being you are built with the capability of finding it.

How silly of me to not even think about this. I am an addict myself and didn't even realize it. Time to kick pride out the door!

Again, sorry about the mishap. Once I have reconstructed the essay I will bring it back with the real argument for legalization.
