Grow room/lab question

I'm building a "tent" approx. 7'L, 3'W, 6'H that is split in two by a door. One side is a clean room for doing culture work, the other half will be a large fruiting chamber.
My question is, I had planned on putting the door to the exterior on the clean room side, but I'm starting to wonder if it would be better to come in the fruiting room first, since everything will be colonized already anyways.
Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks and good vibes

I'd say put the growing area on whichever side it will be easiest to CLEAN...
The clean room/transfer area is a good idea and could be used on either side as long as you scrub the air first. I do myco work in open rooms with just oust FYI

I have FINALLY written up a couple teks as to how SHP has done things in the past. DISCLAIMER: This is not for the newbie to mycology, and not going to work for everyone! This is simply what works for one person when other teks and methods have failed miserably!

Yeah I was faced with the same decision. I settled on not splitting the room between clean and fruit, but instead put in a small entry air lock section (clear plastic strip door behind the entry door) and added a duct that brings fresh HEPA filtered air in to the larger room where I can work with a flow hood and fruit on shelves.
I was originally going to split the room in two like you say, but user SKrink gave me this advice:
"In my experience, it is best to start growing, find your preferred methods, and then design/adapt your room around that. Tricking out a whole room first, and then trying to adapt yourself and your grow methods to the room will most likely end in alot of wasted time, money and effort. So the first question would be, what does your current/past grow setup require?"
I'm glad I followed his advise because what I have now is working great and splitting the room would have really cramped things...

Both sides are going to be about the same to clean. I'm just debating whether to put the door to my bedroom in the fruiting room, or my clean room for when I need access.
I tried doing work even with a glove box in the past (just a pf tek), but in the part of the city I live in, the air is horrible being in an industrial area. Lost most to contams. I could have been a little cleaner back then, but I have a habit of going all in when I decide to do something.

Funny you say that. My set up is very similar. I already have 3 HEPA's for clean air exchange. one into the clean room, the air is then cleaned with a flow hood, then one into and out of the fruiting area.
I arranged the heights to help it pass through passively should it need it. (low, med, high) but
i'm going to make flaps for the filters so I can control when air moves through there with a fan. (maybe unnecessary)
I thought about making it one room, but I wanted to keep the humidity in the growing area only. I was just thinking today of adding on a "pre-room" as a buffer like you have at some point in the future.
My only worry is that I'll be cramped. I'm not worried about changing it though. I enjoy building stuff and I kind of expected to have to change some things.
Thanks a bunch for your advice guys! i'll probably make a thread with a few pictures once it's up and running.
I think I'll put the door on the working room still because I have the flow hood in there

Please do! Sounds to me like you've put in enough time thinking it through that you're well on your way to having it figured out. I'll PM you some pics of my setup just for kicks when they re-enable image uploads again. For now there's some pics in the 1st Grow link in my signature (doesn't show the room itself though).
All the best of luck to you
