went to garden store, asked for finch seed, i got thistle...

Will thistle work? What is this stuff? Im planning on doing 3 jar's of birdseed, and 3 of BRF and see which works better.

I didn't think that was even a seed,
I thought thistle was a weed.

maybe you should go back and get
something different...

Thistle is good as an additive to increase protein, but by itself I don't think it will work as well (never tried it though). Too much protein can increase your chances of contamination. Just check around pet stores for some wild bird seed, or check Walmart - they carry Pennington Finch Food (most people rinse Pennington's before use because its coated with 'Bird-Kote' which adds vitamins, minerals and other nutrients).

Dont ask for finch seed, ask for wild bird seed thats the Actual finch seed, generaly they assume you want thistle. (around here anyway) I my self happend upon a large free source of wbs :-)
