I have a cake thats growing alot slower than the last cake I had , what should I do to speed up its growth??? my other cake had a shroom grow in a couple days but these shroomies I have now are taking longer although they look great and the cake look healthy is there some truth to what I hear about putting a drop of water at the bottom of the shroom to make it grow faster ? also I think that oxygen makes a big difference because after I fan my shroomies and then walk away for awhile and come back THATS when I seem to notice growth I fan twice a day should I go up to 3 times a day thanks all that reply Peace Psilocybeing BRF pf tek "style"

I heard that fanning more than 3 times a day slows growth. At least thats what someone told me in my post "no pins yet." Look at that it. It may help you.

a duck of mine fans his no more than twice a day, sometimes only once. when he wakes up and then goes to bed. as for slow shrooms... patience is one of the biggest keys (it sucks man, but its gootta be there). also, if they are still pins then that may be why its taking so long. duckies pins tended to take about 2 days or so to even look like they did anything. after that process was a little slow until the shrooms were about 2 inches in height.... after that.... BLAMO, quick growth.
hope i helped. just have patience... it'll happen

cool man! this is only my second cake and the first one only had one big fat shroom come out of it before it was chucked (for reasons I dont want to type out)
anyway I have been watching these 2 shrooms cross each other and grow little by little for days and they are about 3 inches so I think Iam in for something cool , but my "other" shroom (the only other shroom I have grown as of yet) got REAL BIG
and I want these ones to get large to so I can eat them both I also heard aborts were more POTENT?? well I have picked and am drying 2 of them to go with what I "hope" will be fatties!

ALSO...................
if I fan more will they really grow slower??
seems strange to me as they need oxygen to breath?
whats up with this? I think I might also add a little more water to the perlite because it seemed to wet a while back so I drained it a bit with a needle I think the water will help
whats up with faning?

Aborts have a higher concentration of psilocybin *by wieght,* but they are really tiny; you'll get a hell of a lot more psilocybin if it were to grow into a full mushroom.
Mushrooms breathe both O2 and CO2; the only time air exchange is really critical is getting it to pin. IMO, fanning once a day is enough; you could go to 2, shouldn't hurt as long as you're misting. A little added CO2 is benificial to growth (they fix CO2) i.e. makes it grow faster. Too much CO2 + dead air pockets from too little air exchange = contaminants, though.

If you fan more often, depending on your set up, the humidity will lower and may take hours to recover to optimal levels. Thats the only reason i can think of that could slow growth, but keep in mind, humidity is one of the most important things. My buddy fan's his shit like 1 to 2 times a day, but it all depends of the size of your growing chamber, and the amount of colonized substrate in it. Good luck!!

I havent misted once !
I was thinking about adding a little water to the perlite though and I will do that soon to increase the h2o and thats what you meant by misting anyway right????

Misting is a manual way to increase humidity. Humidity = the amount of water vapor in the air, inside your growing chamber. Adding water to your pearlite will not definatly increase the humidity. Matter of fact, 2 much water in your pearlite, will ultimatly decrease the humidity.
