What is the largest P.C. I can use without crushing my stove

I'm looking at the All American. And is there any trick to using a large one so that too much of the weight isn't directly on the burner surface.

I highly doubt any pressure cooker is going to crush your stove. If you do get one that's big enough to crush your stove, it's prolly going to be too big to get hot on your stove. You need to invest in a outdoor burner if you want something that huge. I don't really see the point in anything that big though, unless you're sterilizing gallon jars.

I get this question all the time. For MOST electric eye burning stoves it's probably a good idea to keep it around and under 21 quarts (so say a 915 or 921 from All American). All American cookers tend to be a little more beefy and heavy than those Mirro and Presto jobs you get at Wal-Mart.

Now, I imagine you could go as large as the 930-935 but I wouldn't do it often and I'd keep a close eye on it while cooking. I guess it really matters how often you plan to run the pressure cooker.

Gas burning stoves usually tend to be a bit beefier and the burner gaurds are usually very sturdy. I don't see any reason why you couldn't routinely run a 941 on a decent gas top stove from time to time.

Hope this helps.

I have a AA 930 and it does just fine on my electric stove.
Just barely fits cause of my vent and built in microwave over the top of the stove...the 930 is a very tall pc.

The 921 and 925 are ideal for a stove top...I have used a 921 on a hotplate with out any problems....930 and up are really just to awkward for an area with a hood, anything larger than the 930 is outdoor use only...I have the 921 and it's perfect...still weighs 25 lbs empty but it's not a stove crusher

**I know RK...you like awkward when it gets the job done....
